Examples of collective ego backlashes

My mind came up with these examples after watching a video where Leo was talking about collective ego backlashes. 

 

After decades during which the pendulum of society was swung towards white supremacy, our cultures are now over compensating, swinging the pendulum to the other side, to the point of demonization of white people. A "collective backlash." 
But with the years it will even and balance out.
There might be a point in the future when white people will feel the need to fight the racism against them. 
The same phenomena is happening with men and women. For so long men have been in a position of higher statues and power then women, and recently with the rise of the feminist movement, men are overly oppressed, at a societal level. It is an over compensation. In the future women might dominate the world, but in the long run, eventually things might even out.

What do you think of these examples? Are they accurate? Are they even true in your experience?
