Concentration is like a torch, focused, and consciousness is like a lamp, unfocused. You can work mechanically like a robot , you can work with concentration, focused on work, not aware of anything else, forget whole world. 

When you work consciously , you become a witness , your body and mind works and you watch with awareness.  Watching is meditation. What you watch is irrelevant.
