Awareness And Consciousness For Meditation

1 post in this topic

Be distracted by all your senses. Do not be distracted by one sense in particular. If you focus too much on one thought and/or emotion, can you be aware of all your senses to the degree you are focus on those? Do not focus on one sense, thought, or emotion to the extent that you are distracted from any of the other senses. What seems like chaos is actually order at a distance just as pointillism seems like an orderly solid from a distance. If you get past your animal instincts and focus on all of your senses while being aware of thought and/or emotion, you will be very aware. The truth is that resisting your senses is what decreases awareness. Your senses are attracting you like five women each flirting and courting you, if you resist one, it will leave; if you focus too much on one, the others will feel distant because you did not listen for so long. Don't be an ass. Don't resist your senses. Feel your senses. Experience your thoughts. If they are unwanted, do not resist them or engage in them and do not be for or against them. Become indifferent. Action would not be the answer in this case, non-action would be the answer.

How to supervise thoughts: Be neither for or against your thoughts, yet have them.

Be like an old blind man who steps on new carpet with muddy shoes. Reject opinions (lies people became comfortable with), but do not have a view (in terms of favor or lack of favor) of them. Throw them out like trash for no good reason. Lack a reason, simply waste them. As for facts, keep them for no good reason. Let keeping facts be as natural as the bowel movements you have no idea you are having. Don't favor or detest them. Be comfortable with them like people with opinions became comfortable with lies. Not that you should keep them for comfort either. Do not favor or oppose.

Meditate on this. This is my idea but I found it because I wanted something that applied to everyone. I wanted to help myself yet not be selfish. So I decided to be impartial yet indifferent. But then I felt emotion which isn't indifferent. So I became indifferent about emotion during emotion and still remained impartial. I only ask people to not be blinded by opinions, futile traditions, and the illusion of justification caused by some strong emotions
