Those of us who have studied biology would have been taught about the swimming motion of spermatozoa as their tails were observed to beat from side to side, and most likely assimilated this as fact. The latest thinking is based on a different perspective/mode of observation and renders the hitherto accepted fact as somewhat less than factual.
