Meditation music for impermanence (The Caretaker)

2 posts in this topic

I recently I found a series of albums by Leyland Kirby called, The Caretaker, in which it shows through music the stages of memory loss and dementia. I have listened to multiple hours from these albums and I can say that it is the single most emotional music you will ever hear. I am forever changed by the these songs.  It forces your mind to mediate on the impermanence of life and aging but does it gracefully but also with blunt honesty. I recommend listening to them on a cloudy day while walking outside in nature and thinking, this day too will be forgotten. It gives you the feeling like you are melting away into a dream.

This made me appreciate the power of art. These albums can take you on an experiential journey of total deconstruction of the sense of self.

Here is the collection in one piece.
