5meoDMT freebase or salt?

Hello psychonauts,

could you help me understand which kind of substance I have I'm dealing with?

I bought this 5meo six months ago from a reputable vendor in UE and smoked 14mg for the first time one month later: the experience was very intense so I put my stock in a cold and dark place and forgot about it.

Color is very brownish/amber with some darker spots and consistence is sticky/oily.
The vendor says it is the oxalate salt and from another post on reddit about that product of that vendor people say it is oxalate.

BUT

Few days ago I decide to try a more gentle approach by boofing it, as many suggest and as it is shown here in the video (https://www.actualized.org/insights/how-to-plug-psychedelics ) and when I went to dissolve ~7mg in the water it didn't dissolve! Even with 7ml of liquid it still didn't so I added some vinegar and magically dissolved.
The experience was very soft and zero visuals but very zen.
Have I done something wrong?
Is it possible that I have the freebase instead??

Sounds like freebase to me, if it dissolves in vinegar

If cheminsty is not an option.
But I am very confused by why everyone would say it is the oxalate? mah
