experiences with tic disorders?

I've been suffering from motor tics since I was little. 

they are not persistent but recurring. 

mostly they stay for a few months and mostly in the face area. Eyes most of the time. 

as unexpected as they come they go.  does anyone have any experience of getting rid of them?

Can a vitamin deficiency be the cause?

Not sure, how tics work. But I doubt it would be related to food deficiencies. I also have quite a history with ticks, I think it operates much more on a mental level. It always felt like a slippery slope to me, you take it serious, you give legitimacy to the claim that you have them, they get worse. You start seeing doctors, you try to fight them, you try to find the cure, you've already lost. I would suggest just be aware of them, let the emotions and uncomfortability that they bring come up and try to let that go. Again, I could be totally off here, this is just what comes to mind.

yeah I think you're right with your assumptions. I often noticed that they get worst when they bother me the most. So maybe its really just about changing the focus.. thank you

Blood sugar management is usually quite effective for prevention of neurological episodes with severe problems like epilepsy so perhaps it can help with ticks? 

Other than that, minimising stimulants like coffee, redbul , ephedrine etc. These will make it easier to deploarise your nerve cell membrane and trigger excitation. 

Sleep is important for healing neurons. 

Also it could be related to anxiety and stress, have you seen it worsening when you get stressed? 

Acupuncture could really make a difference for you as well as some herbal remedies, could be that you need help withcalcium balance management, maybe a bit of parathyroid support and some upper circulation. Good naturopath could perhaps help with that. 

 

Also, have a look at this. This is a dietary approach to Tourette's but one of Tourette's symptoms is ticks so it is possible some of those may be applicable universally.
