Orange Stage Of Personality Development.

10 posts in this topic

I believe that I'm not religious, but what does the blue stage have to say?

It says that the ego goes from self to others and because its written in the book its true the book is right and everything else is wrong.

I feel that's what I'm doing with personal development, its almost like Leo is the priest ; the material is the bible and because its written in there its true...its about others too..

So what would stage orange of personality development look like?  Any thoughts????

the main differences are you're encouraged to find truth for yourself, you're encouraged to challenge the "truth" you find, and your encouraged to have your OWN experiences. In fact, you MUST do all of these to grow. If you choose to make it the way you describe, you can see these teachings as religion. However it's only your perception and what you choose to do

Orange would be exploiting others for personality development, being results oriented, being a workaholic..

@Elton

Hi Elton,

You are already seeing the limitations of your current worldview.

This is good.

Orange is watching.

Forget about what you think orange might do for now. Instead concentrate on the practing the attitude of radical inclisivity - aka every person and stage holds a piece of the truth.

This kind of open-mindedness will help you break down your current structure and open you up to new flavours, or colours, of existence and perspective that you do not yet have access to.

See Ayala's post on resonance.

Continue with self inquiry and meditation.  But cognitive development rests on the ability to take mulit-faceted perspectives and see the world through many different lenses.

@Elton It was only a few weeks ago when I transitioned from Blue to Orange.

During that time, I was trying to think increasingly rationally, as Rationality is a key trait of Orange.

If you think the stuff Leo tells you is absolute truth and undeniable, you're probably being dogmatic. You're totally convinced that what he preaches is true. However, you need to rethink this, and you need to discover the truth that you can never be certain of anything. Realizing that absolute truth does not exist will be a big step towards Orange.

Continue trying things and aiming towards Orange and psychological evolution. This is important and in my experience more than worthwhile.

I was conscious of the change in my psychology as it was happening. Although transitioning from one stage to another one happens gradually, there is a tipping point after which you totally pass on to the next stage. The change takes place in the unconscious mind, and you will experience a reconceptualization of reality. You motivation in life will change and you'll become a more effective human being. As you make more progress and move into Green and Yellow, you will be rewarded will a psychology that is increasingly agile, effective and adaptive. I could feel my emotions changing and consequently, my perception of the world and myself too. My values also changed.

Although I'm not totally sure what caused my tipping point, I used an affirmation the two nights leading up to it. In bed, before sleeping, I would tell my subconscious to make my mind increasingly agile, efficient, and effective. I'd say this twice or thrice, and then again in the morning after I woke up. Maybe that did the trick ;)

Best of luck,

Vishal

Aaaaa I feel i'm being open minded when Im accepting what Leo says he doesn't just concoct things from thin air he is a pro at personal development... He has referenced many books and I don't know may be what he says is not the truth but there is something that tells me I should follow his advice.. Ya transition is cool but it might take years..  I'm just following the plateaury process in personal development..  But thinking about the next stage is good cause I'll know when I'm there...

@Elton That is the thinking that maintains the dogma. Your justifications for why you believe what he says "he's a pro at personal development", "he has referenced many books" are very similar to the ones I had. It seems that because he's studied so much and experienced so much that he must be right, right? No. Just because he's well read doesn't necessarily mean he's right. Try to see why he might be wrong. Try to see why enlightenment, although probably true, may also not be true. At least not true for you.

What Leo says may be true for him, but how do you know whether it's true for you? You need to experience and study what he's studied to form your own opinions and worldview.

Elton,

If we were to attempt to boil down orange to its essence, it would be this:

Orange is "thinking about thinking"

Operations on operations.

So what orange does naturally is he's a critic. A skeptic. Nobody's fool. An individual and his own man.

He knows instinctively the wheat from the chaff and he looks very carefully at whos right and whos a charlatan.  This is what you're already doing, the next step is to start to deconstruct Leo's work and really scrutinized it for flaws.  Orange wants consistency and truth.

Visual is correct.

@Mal hahahahaha and how do you know Vishal is correct?  See there is no right and wrong but thinking makes you believe that there is something called as right and wrong

@Elton

I'm merely telling you how orange is structured.

Being able to put ideas into their proper context is an important skill to master -but that won't come online for you cognitively until you climb out of blue.

Yep, this is true FOR ME. But at this point you're just parroting a belief that you picked up.
