- Before he got into Buddhism, he obtained  a PhD in philosophy.
- Got ordained in a Mahayana Buddhist School in Vietnam.
- Then Traveled to Sri Lanka got ordained as a Theravada bhikku.
- he now lives and teaches at Chuang Yen Monastery (Carmel, New York.
