Planning two 10-day solo retreats per year and one hour daily meditation

1 post in this topic

This episode made me grow immediately. I realized my spitefulness comes from lack of love. I need to love in order to free myself from revenge and various other emotional distractions. I realized I had been very lazy for the last few days because I had been trying to do too much at once and my mind couldn't keep up with multi-tasking. When my mind can't keep up with multi-tasking, it just shuts down and starts distracting itself with various petty stuff. I need to allow myself to do nothing for hours in order to regain strategic decisiveness and awareness.

1. One hour daily meditation

I posit that meditating 20 minutes in the morning and 40 minutes before I go to bed would be better than meditating for one hour straight. This way, I am better able to respond to emergencies that eat into my schedule.

2. Doing two 10-day solo retreats per year

Doing absolutely nothing during 10-day solo retreats is not feasible. I have to prepare food, exercise a bit, and take a walk. I must review anki decks everyday.

Instead, I would do bare minimum(food, reviewing anki decks, a little bit of exercise, maybe watching Leo's videos) and plan hours-long "do nothing" sessions everyday for 10 days.

Also, doing two 10-day solo retreats per year sounds like too much time commitment. Perhaps, I will start with one 10-day solo retreat per year and see how it turns out. Before I do a 10-day solo retreat, I will experience a one day solo retreat which is really good for re-orienting myself after being lazy for a while.
