Exploring The Monadic Nature

6 posts in this topic

In the Neoplatonic metaphysics of Proclus, reality is organized in a fractal-like structure, where the role of the monad is to bind together each layer with the next, such that a monad at a higher level folds out into a multiplicity at a lower level; this lower multiplicity is itself a multiplicity of monads at the next level down.

— Wikipedia article, Monad

Leibniz says, 'I don't really eliminate body, but reduce [revoco] it to what it is. For I show that corporeal mass [massa], which is thought to have something over and above simple substances, is not a substance, but a phenomenon resulting from simple substances, which alone have unity and absolute reality.

— Wikipedia article, Monadology

These are one of the most intelligent things I have read.

It aligns with my understanding of how my experience is constructed.

Each layer of experience contains infinite layers of potential experiences.

E.g., The visual field is a self-containing, absolute phenomenological reality with unique qualia due to being composed of layers that themselves contain layers ad infinitum. It has a fractal structure where each layer becomes self-evident when it's hallucinated.

I had the insight that every layer of experience is one and contains one of everything that is self-evident. No duplicates. It's so genius! It's efficient as hell!

The ontological structure of both your visual field and the visual representation of the Mandelbrot set are identical!

Do you understand that, regardless of how limited your imagination might be, there are potential experiences somewhere within the fractal structure of your experience that are exactly as you imagine them?

Knowing I will experience my wildest dreams one day as if they are as real as this dream is what keeps me going.

I'm scared of the end of my life, but I'm opening my mind towards it more. Like, it would be the ultimate letting go of this current experience. 🫨

My true identity cannot die because non-existence doesn't exist as an actual thing, and anything that exists would exist for me, as existence is immediate. 🙂

Me too, despite the promise of the infinite.  I'm deeply attached to this character and God is quite fond of him as well.  The only thing Id be losing is my asshole self but the idea still wounds the human part of me.  There's many other things I would like to experience as this character.

The good news is this is guaranteed.  Its going to be taken from you one way or another no matter what you do so you might as well align with the forces that forge and liberate your soul instead of the ones put there to take it from you.  You don't want to step into the abyss of eternity as a perpetual victim with a bitch heart.

When the christians say believe in jesus for eternal life they did, at the very least, got it half right.

Jesus' main message was we are all Christ (or Christs if you prefer).  Its a special thing to actually experience it for yourself.

Then, well, you know.  Death may be the end of you and your organism but the end of you is where you begin.
