Dream has many definitions

1 post in this topic

The word "Dream" is another way to refer to a loose clan in Gaelic
believe it or not. "Plant" is Latin, though its somewhat relevant to the word "clan", granted that
it comes from Gaelic/Old Irish "clann". As then there's "sìol" meaning "clan as the seed/lineage
of a specific founder", or even more directly "cinneadh" is Scottish Gaelic for kindred (kin) tribe
or people (literally "ceann", head + "cinnidh", of the kindred). A clan specifically as descendants
of one of your ancestors, would've been "fine", or "tuath" is a clan as a people occupying a land.

The word "dream" collides w/ the unrelated Irish word "taibhreamh" (sleep-dream) and, more annoyingly, w/ the English word "dream", so most results will show the English origin of the word, even though, if im to understand, theres atleast 2-3 different words that look like "dream" (Gaelic "dream" is closer to "dhr'am", as there's no /ea/ diphthong)

But going back to dream, as in sleep dream, ὀνείρατος, its opposed to a waking vision / reality, "bi a' bruadar" in Scottish Gaelic, "to be sleeping", point being, theres several words and terms for a dream (sleep-dream) followed by several definitions.

Technically reality is a kind of dream, but its different enough to make it distinct. Its the opposite of what happens while asleep, you gain control and you lose that sense of "anything can happen" happening, though its possibly easier from the point of reality, to understand it. Consider that, no one feels like theyve awakened from "reality" after theyve fallen asleep, like no one says "i finally understood reality, after i woke up ... in my dream" -thus its rare enough to point to what im tryina say, which is that, the sentiment of *waking up* can be more easily accessed while awake (prior to falling into a dream). And when i say "dream" it could mean many different things. Daydreaming could be a dream, or any cyclical thought could, As you can feel it in your head when the felt dream is becoming a real dream (inb4 "nodding off")

To understand dreams, and thus, to understand waking reality, is to understand all the folded strands that equate to that sense of dreaming, what it means, what it could mean... As reality is the assumption that you "think your in control", more so than a dream. That is, to understand anything is to understand all the strands that make it up, in its vast, multi dimensional stage of possibility.

p.s. this is part one of atleast a two part discussion, so, expect more, but it wont be this early... itll be after midnight when everyones asleep.
