i'm having a bit of a reaction against my old journal - have been having it for quite some time - and i am starting to question if this is the right moment to close it and simply leave it be.

as i am not actually sure if it's that particular journal or journalling on this forum itself that i am having a reaction to, i'm trying to test that here.

"journalling judy" has been on my mind as a new title mostly because it can also be understood as a sort of passive construction, such as "judy is being journalled" (rather than "judy is journalling"), which i found fitting... but maybe after some time i will think that this sounds stupid, too. we'll have to see.

anyway, it's term break now and i feel quite miserable. it's bad for me when i have too much time to think. having study stress to numb me was kind of nice, even though it was, you guessed it, stressful. now i'm having to sit with myself all day and ask myself questions that i do not have answers to. i cringe all the time when i think of stupid things i did and said in the past, and these memories seem to resurface a little more often than usual in this particular phase of my life.

i tried watching movies and giving them my full attention, and then i noticed how, apparently, probably the number one emotion movies are capable of inducing is sadness. worked pretty good with Interstellar today, and a few days ago with another movie called Sugar Baby (Alexander Prost, 2024) set in Russia.
