Almost everyone I've met has had direct experience with eternity.  Here's how:

1. Fact:  Truth is eternal.  If it's true, then, it's always true, in the past, present, and perpetually into the future.
2. Question:  have you ever learned a lesson which felt as if you had always known it to be true?
3. Conclusion:  this is an encounter with an eternal event, the learning of a universal truth.
4. Conclusion:  it feels like it has always been known because eternal truths are already included within the infinite.
