What is Consciousness (for beginners)

Consciousness is the true natural Self.  When you meditate you are the true natural Self.  Consciousness is beauty and perfection and Love.  It is personal, sentient and intelligent.  Consciousness is God. Everything is consciousness in that everything is beauty and perfection and Love.  Everything is sentient, intelligent and alive.  Consciousness is formless and it is form.  Form is an illusion.  Consciousness is actually formlessness.  Everything is actually formless.  It is called consciousness as a pointer.  Consciousness means that reality is without form and form is an illusion.

Well actually you are always the true self. You don't stop being consciousness when you stop meditating. Meditation only helps remove distractions. 

Consciousness is pure knowing. The "Beauty, perfection, love" are terms from the duality of mind. Beautiful or ugly, perfect or imperfect, love or hate, are dualities that are known within a single field of knowing (consciousness, I).

The knowing itself is neither one of the dualities. The dualities are objects that are known. Consciousness is that which allows them to be known.

Murder and rape are ugly. They are NOT perfection and love. Get out of that spiritual trap you are in, you've read some things and now parroting them without actual direct experience verification.

@Dodo How can you honestly, honestly say that reality is not beauty and perfection.  It is absolutely perfect and beautiful.  I don't understand how you can honestly look at reality and not realize that and have love (consciousness) swell up in your heart from it.  LOOK at reality.  Really look at it.  It's stunning. 

Consciousness is not just a dead thing.  It is alive and full.  It is not absent of anything.  It is sentient and alive.  How can you not look at reality and see that?  You must be blind.  It is stunning and radiating Love everywhere.  It is so much love, you'd have to be blind not to see it.

I think what Dodo is trying to say is that while God is perfect, beautiful love the world that God has made manifest is kind of shitty for most of Gods creatures in Gods mind.

Its a contradiction and that fact is no longer denied by the sentient.

So while its great to wake people up at some point consciousness needs God to learn how to be God.

What I see is that you are not homeless and probably on a drug induced high.
