My Idol (Survival Theory)

2 posts in this topic

My Idol survival theory is a theory I have developed after contemplating why do I behave the way I behave , and why do people behave the way they behave.

I came across the conclusion that I like to call it " My idol theory"

What's My Idol ?

My Idol is a theory that states that your behavior and beliefs are entirely based on people that have influenced , or impacted you the most during the past.

For Example:

If your idol is a rich businessman, you'll likely see that reflect in your life , by working hard or having motive to be rich.

If your idol is your mother, you might tend to behave the way your mother behaved.

If your idol was a teacher in your high school , you can reflect on your life and realize that you have high respect for teachers in general.

You can have a mix of idols , for example you might have The rich businessman, your mother, and the teacher you met at your highschool all influencing your beliefs behaviors and actions all at once.

Upon reflection I realized that words that comes from the biggest influencers in your life tend to impact you the most and maybe even slightly change your opinion, you tend to AGREE with your idols and biggest influencer.s

I reflected on my life and realized I have 3 idols

Leo Gura,

A friend I met during a vacation abroad,

A friend I met during University.

I reflected on my actions and behaviors and realized that the actions i would likely take in life are actions that my influencers took.

For example:

Leo gura takes DMT .

If someone offers me DMT I will smoke it probably because my idol did too.

The friend in my university tells me you need to pray and get close to god.  I will more likely follow what my friend says because he is a big influencer in my life.

The friend i met during a vacation doesn't have children and never got married. I will more likely tend to go this route , never have children and never marry.

Conflicting Idols

As you see in my situation there is a conflict between my idols , one tells me to smoke dmt and realize that you are god, the other tells me to pray to god.

Conflicting idols can exist and result in conflicting behavior.

I asked bunch of people who are the people that influenced them the most or impacted them the most during their lifetime. And realized that they will more likely take actions that their influencers took before.

Leo talks about not taking this work as a belief system and to not to idolize your spiritual teachers. But that's practically impossible in my opinion.

Now the mic is yours.

Who are the people that impacted you the most during your life , or people that influenced yourself the most?

Who are your Idols ?

I think it goes both ways. People can become your idols because they reflect something already latent in you.

Most of the people that have impacted me the most I don't idolise (consciously). Mostly the people that I've been in close proximity to: my parents, family, my close friends. Ironically, I have traits that I wish I didn't have that I have picked up from them.

I've always admired people with skill and intelligence or beauty - more accurately those who create beauty. The greats: Picasso, Dali, Marilyn Monroe, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, The Beatles, Nelson Mandela, Spielberg, Einstein, Newton, Euler, Gauss, Turing. The list is endless.

The future can be real. The future can be again.
