The full story:

Experts said his brain tissue was severely compressed by fluid, not physically gone.

  • The man suffered from chronic hydrocephalus “water on the brain" from a young age. As a child, he had a shunt in his head to drain fluid, which was removed at age 14.
  • Over the next 30 years, fluid slowly accumulated and compressed his brain tissue into a thin, outer layer, rather than destroying it.
  • Because compression happened gradually, his brain adapted and remapped functions to the thin remaining layer of tissue. The remaining 10% assumed functions for the entire brain.
  • While his IQ was tested at 84, which is slightly below the average range (85–115), it was high enough for him to live independently, raise a family and work a government job.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?
