Anthropic vs the US government

I think this is one of the biggest cases unfolding on the planet at the moment. AI warfare and AI law enforcement have to be the top issue of the next decade and Anthropic and it's CEO are fighting for more transparency and less authoritarianism around it as we speak. Shoutout to it's CEO Dario Amodei for standing up for what he believes in.

 

We're witnessing the next evolution in law enforcement and the monopoly of force. It won't be long before AI CCTVcameras all over the country are linked to Police Robots and we've either made it it to 1984 or a no violence utopia.

Everyone will stand against mass surveillance and AI law enforcement but I think it's a much more nuanced debate then that. Law enforcement and surveillance are key to prosperity in our societies. The reason a mall is a fun place to go to is because it has security guards, cameras and quick access to cops. The same concept applies to our cities and countries as a whole.

I think it's beautiful that this is happening right as the epstein situation is resurfacing at the top of US and european elite circles. This shows that government and law enforcement are not solved issues and the flaws in the system are appropriately being revealed now. 

If we get it wrong it's easy to image dystopian scenarios that will happen but I think that's not very interesting and lazy intellectualism. We should be using our brains to collectively ensure that we get this right and usher in a new era of peace and collaboration for our species.
