healing trauma can possibly cure mental illness

3 posts in this topic

So I stumbled upon a youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@dmackler58/videos

His videos are centered around healing ones trauma, and so forth. He claims that many mental illnesses, Bipolar, schizophrenia, PTSD, even sociopathy (antisocial disorder) are simply expressions of severe trauma. As for how the trauma occured that is unique to each individual and the method for healing trauma can vary. You may need to introspect a lot, write down your memories and confront your pain. Inevitably it will result in many tears, and anger, but the end result can be to be healthy and happy.

I'm invested in this as I have been diagnosed with a psychotic disorder and am working hard to become healthy again, I think of schizophrenia as a form of PTSD.

My personal method for solving trauma is meditation on the heart chakra, I currently feel a sharp and painful sensation near the chest, it's the emotional wounds becoming apparent, and dealing with this will eventually cure me, I believe, I hope.

An example of a video he made:  In it he interviews psychiatrists, the main point of the video is to illustrate how ineffective psychiatry is at curing schizophrenia, and that the medications merely only supress symptoms, not tackling the root cause which is trauma. He also has videos where he talks about different disorders, and he specifically interviews some psychiatrists who managed to cure psychotic patients.

maybe there are risks involved with this viewpoint though, especially the video i linked, it's probably not recommended to abrubtly quit taking medications etc He has videos about that too but uh......And i dont want people to start going full anti-medication or anti psychiatry, i could've found a better video (im a bit lazy and too disoriented to find it) but just the focus on Trauma as a root cause of mental illness, sounds overly simplistic, but that's the idea.

Dealing with the trauma, you may cure the mental issues.

it is inherently anti psychiatry and anti establishment, views that may be too controversial for this site, and maybe im naive to believe in this cult figure in the youtube video. Perhaps too early for me to even speak about this since this is very new to me and i dont have much experience (although ive had major breakthroughs in terms of healing) but no symptom changes.

Schizophrenia is repeated abuse over years without any stop. Its like a negative Tulpa.  A tulpa is created via repeated thoughts toward something that isn't there and you create an imaginary thing that eventually starts thinking by itself. Its more than ptsd its an entity that live in your mind.
