Becoming A Professional

4 posts in this topic

I have spent far too much time dabbling. Im a 23 year old two time college dropout with a string of dead end jobs. Ive done over 50 psychedelic trips and had crazzy awakenings, but im still broke with no gf and barely any friends. Ive dipped my toes in every area that has interested me, but not gone further than the shallow end of the pool. Im basically really bad at a lot of different things. Im starting this journal in an effort to change the trajectory of my life and focus on one area and become a master at that.

After tons of searching, I realized that technology is the only area that can satisfy my intellectual and creative ambitions. I want to be a master inventor and work on cutting edge technology like robotics and AI to actually create real value for humanity. My previous artistic pursuits were done for vanities sake or to fulfill my desires of fame and money.

A couple months ago I went back to school and transferred to a local college and im studying computer science. I have about 1.5 years to get my skillset up and build a kickass portfolio that will attract job offers. Im gonna use this journal to track my progress on studying and projects and also use it to store inspiring or interesting vids.

Ideally I would grind for at least 4-6hrs on CS work. Also want to keep up a spiritual practice so I want to do kriya yoga for at least an hour a day.

Follow if ur interested in the rags to riches journey of a 23 year old loser.

^^ This guy inspires me. He dropped out of highschool and originally wanted to be a poet. He took like 6 years to finish college and only in his last year did he realize that he wanted to pursue mathematics. 5 years later he got a Phd and then eventually got the highest honor of all mathematics. Anything is possible

Done 3/150 problems. I would like to finish all of these by the end of the year. I should be able to consistently do 2-3 per day in about 2 hrs.

^^ I just got this book. Would also like to finish this in 3ish months. This combined with DSA will give good foundation.

The thing that sucks rn is having to do work for the misc required courses. Next semester ill be able to put in 8+ hrs a day since all my courses will be CS related

This new actual human assisting robot came out and you can get it for $20k. Seems like it has potential, but cant cook your food or do any errands outside your house

Didnt do any Neetcode problems today. Have test in a few days so I studied some of the previous material

Taking a computer vision course next semester. This looks like a cool project I could try in meantime.

Seems like that robot I posted yesterday is a semi scam. It was completely teleoperated by a human that would be able to see inside your house and collect every piece of info on how u live. Cant even close a dishwasher without remote assistance. Seems like tech is a long way off from being usable daily and even then, would people want it knowing it could see everything u do?

5/150 Problems done

^^ Made this today. Total about 4hrs working on CS stuff. Test on tuesday.

Was looking at rankings by country and I would only need like a 2100 to get into top 100 in the USA. Honestly is doable within a year and would be good for resume

^^^ Crazy good video. Will come back to this many times. Shocking to realize that 98% of your actions is just do to conformity, possibly even this choice of life purpose. Constantly ask "Why are you doing this." True original thinking is the rarest thing in the world.
