I want to help with the suicide/drug crisis and I'm not sure where to start

I've been watching Leo's prerequisite videos for conscious politics and am hoping to run for a local office or voulenteer for one but wasn't really sure how/where to start. I have struggled with subatance abuse and sucicdal thoughts and I want to get involved with these issues. I would love any/all feedback

Maybe you can volunteer in helping groups in your area, research if there are. You can take it further and get some education in this kind of social work or counseling about addiction recovery and other issues, if that's your calling. Sometimes going through it yourself is a good starting point for then helping others, and you've got that, but don't dismiss additional education, as said, if you are in a position to get it.

Later on, you can run for public office, but for your brief message, I would say you're not there yet, though maybe I'm wrong.
