What could Europe learn from China and vice versa

2 posts in this topic

So i said Europe because West is too big. The US doing its own thing.

I’m in a central Western European country.

What we (my country) could learn from China is certainly skyscrapers and other modern architecture.

They don’t have to be as high but China has some of the nicer skyscrapers imo. Although i’ve never seen thwm in person.

We have beautiful oldtowns and old architecture. But modern architecture is so bland imo. I’m in a small country so it would definitely make sense to build higher buildings often.

Gosh i almost hate modern architecture here but looove the old.

Also generally long term thinking and long term strategy Europe could learn from China.

Although obviously there are long term projects and strategies. Like this and much more.

But with election cycles and so on it’s often not clear what the long term plan is. And there are of course different parties and conflicting interests. Which is a negative aspect of democracy i guess. It would be great if we could merge the two. Great democracy and serious long term planning and strategy.

Also military autonomy. Still too reliant on the US. France is doing a decent job and some countries like Sweden. And there are many joint projects which i think is good like

France, Germany, Spain new fighter jet.

UK, Italy, Japan new fighter jet.
