The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has said that the Axiom-4 (Ax-04) mission which Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is part of will provide valuable inputs for India’s upcoming Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission. Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is the second Indian astronaut in space after Commander Rakesh Sharma who went to space successfuly in 1984.

“The Ax-04 mission will provide valuable inputs for ISRO’s upcoming Gaganyaan mission. It offers hands-on experience in the nuances of international crew integration, medical and psychological preparation, real-time health telemetry, experiment execution, and crew–ground coordination,” ISRO said.

It added that these insights will directly influence mission planning, safety validation, and astronaut readiness for India’s first indigenous human spaceflight mission.

India is set to launch its first crewed mission in 2027 in the Gaganyaan human flight Mission, and Captain Shukla has been selected to pilot it.

His present assignment as a pilot in the Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission is to gain operational experience which will be useful in the Gaganyaan Mission.

ISRO has paid a lot of money for his training and operational expenses.

India has ambitious plans to set its own space stations as well as habitats and bases on the moon , mars and other planets and satellites.

Habitats outside the earth can enhance the survival potential of the human species in the event of a asteroid strike or a global nuclear holocaust due to foolish and dumb-witted international leadership.

So establishing living and sustainable habitats outside the earth is a strategic objective of ISRO.
