Drop your human bias

2 posts in this topic

The deepest self-bias many of us hold is the idea that we are humans, biological creatures. This is so normalized because we have no reference point of what it is like to experience Reality as a non-human. Imagine being an ant, a boulder, a four-headed alien or the color magenta. How would that impact your existence?

Go deep into meditation and drop the notion that you are a human on a planet. Just be.

This is especially important in doing any sort of self-inquiry or philosophy. It's mind-blowing to me that scientists don't grasp this idea. Science is taking Reality and filtering it not only through your immense human bias, but then filtering it once more through your narrow lens of what fits the scientific paradigm. Whatever you have left at this point is just an infinitely small reduction of the very thing you were trying to understand.

Science investigates the behavior of reality—speed, forces, physical laws—and attempts to manipulate it to achieve certain goals. It does so with enormous success, and never claims to know the ultimate nature of reality.

Regarding the other point you made, yes, of course, in meditation the mind must abandon meaning. Any meaning closes; meditation is opening.
