Jesus and Leo's Commandment on Self Control

Quote

@Santiago Ram I don't think you will find any "truth of self-control". Just discipline yourself to follow your values. That's it. There's no magic trick. When you see a slice of pizza your tell yoursrelf NO. And you obey. Because it violates your values.

Leo wrote this.

I found the ressemblance between Leos Advice and Jesús Commandment impressive.

> “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

[Matthew 16:24-25]

Holy Spirit, I REFUSE to do my S(elfish)atanic Will. Help me, for I strive to see your Kingdom.

[Matthew 16:24-25] 24 > “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

The desire to “save your life” (Jesus) or to “eat the pizza” (Leo) represents the ego’s attempt to secure comfort, pleasure, and identity through gratification

NO, because your values, Says Leo

deny, for my sake, Says Christ

Holy Spirit, I REFUSE to do my S(elfish)atanic Will. Help me, for I strive to see your Kingdom.

[Matthew 16:24-25] 24 > “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

i don't see any resemblance -- Actualized.org helped me awaken to the truth that Christianity and Jesus are socially constructed

@Terell Kirby Here we go again... I had a direct experience of God though the teachings of Christ. But thats not the point of this post. Just this Commandment on Self Control.

Holy Spirit, I REFUSE to do my S(elfish)atanic Will. Help me, for I strive to see your Kingdom.

The moment of transformation lies in what we could call the sacred no.

“You see a slice of pizza. You tell yourself NO. And you obey.” —Leo Gura

let him DENY himself and take up his cross and follow me.

In the Greek text of this Bible passage, the phrase is "ἀπαρνησάσθω ἑαυτόν" — which means not just “deny,” but “disown” or “renounce” the self. The ego is not merely to be managed; it is to be dethroned.

Direct experience of God thru teachings of Christ ..

.. is not the same as becoming directly conscious that you are God .. imagining the teachings of Christ

@Terell Kirby Sure I am GOD AND Christ AND I wrote those teachings.

I am Christ learning Self Discipline.

As all the aspiring Saints are.

You are Christ as well my friend.

I hope you find this Insight on Discipline useful
