The Rider And The Horse Analogy For Understanding Human Nature.

I was thinking about how human beings are basically two things. Using the Rider and the horse analogy, I've observed that we have this animal nature which is the horse in the analogy, but we also have this rational intelligent nature to ourselves and that's the rider in the analogy. From this frame it's beautiful to see how the horse, which is representing our emotions and our energy is this powerful force of our animal nature and that we must learn to ride and to tame our emotions, desires and raw primal strength. We have the ability to channel this energy intelligently using our intellect and logic, and this is how great works of art and beauty are created in all fields of life is because we are channeling this raw primal animal force and all animals have but what makes us human is the fact that we can turn inwards, reflect on our experiences and channel this energy into something creative. So that's a great way to view ourselves and it can be very easy to get sucked into our emotions and live with destructive life because we're not controlling ourselves and riding that horse in a way that is not destructive but creative. Controlling ourselves doesn't necessarily mean that we have to suppress or repress ourselves but to work on ourselves, integrate the many various parts of ourselves and to flourish as our true authentic selves using our intelligence and logic to channel our energy into something productive and uniquely our own. I heard a boxer by the name of Chris eubanks once said, " it's not what or who you take from and whether it is in sports or business something useful that you can use as your own, but it's where you can take it to" and I believe that if we all learn to understand ourselves as the rider and the horse we will be able to make better decisions yes, but also channel that raw primal emotion and energy into a uniquely creative way.

Let me know what you think about this, I'm sure you've heard of this analogy before if your a personal development junkie, I know Leo used it in one of his older videos but looking at it from this angle I feel it really shed some light on it and can help us take a step back especially in the heat of a moment to see the bigger picture and to be more responsible and intelligent because our emotions play a really really huge factor in our lives, or maybe the only factor for most people. And don't get me wrong being more intelligent and logical doesn't mean that we have to turn off our emotions and become cold but it's actually the opposite, we are tuned into our emotions more fully, and we learn to ride it like a horse, steering in a direction of our highest passions and not let it take us over and destroy others and us.

What if you feel no emotions

@Sugarcoat

I'm not just specifically referring to feelings, I'm talking about the raw life forces that drives nature. Makes a baby cry, moves an animal and keeps you breathing. The drive of survival itself, even if your numb to emotions and disconnected from them, the horse is still there moving but may be numb to it and you won't be aware that your riding it. You see?
