  1. @Mellowmarsh You are right, or Newman is right in a sense: There are two ways to perceive the absolute. One is absolute being, the total brilliance of what is, sat chit ananda. The fact of being affirmative, radiant, self-aware, and absolute joy because nothing limits it. Total light, what is called enlightenment. The other is absolute emptiness, which is total potential. You perceive yourself as unlimited emptiness, an absence of limits with nothing to hold onto, no reference point, but the very fact of limitlessness perceives itself as total potential. Absolute nothingness in the sense of being unbounded, formless, but open, potential. But saying: reality is nothing leads to confusion
  2. Nothingness means nothingness. Blue means blue.
  3. Nothingness exists as a concept known. And yet things know nothing. That’s what nothingness means, it means things know nothing.
  4. Yes the way the word nothingness is used by Jim is same as absolute potentiality
  5. Yes agree, magical could fit, but It's not from nothingness, there is not nothingness, it's unlimited. Unlimited means absolute potentiality, it's inevitable.
  6. I know you don't like the word Nothingness, but I'm not sure what else to use. From Nothing to Everything, how could Everything not be magical ?
  7. @LordFall what does reality look like outside of human perception Outside of human perception, reality has no color, sound, texture, or smell—those are neural interpretations created by your brain to translate raw environmental data. In its objective, unperceived state, reality consists of: Pure Energy and Fields: "Light" is just electromagnetic radiation across a massive spectrum (most of which we can't see, like radio, UV, and X-rays). "Sound" is merely mechanical vibrations moving through matter. Overlapping Force Fields: Space is saturated with invisible gravitational, magnetic, and quantum fields interacting continuously. Quantum Probabilities: At the fundamental level, matter isn't made of hard, solid spheres. It exists as shifting probability distributions and quantum fields that only collapse into localized particles when interacting with other systems. In short, objective reality is a silent, colorless, dynamic web of mathematical forces, fields, and particles. is it like a formless void? No, it isn't an empty void. A void implies nothingness, but reality outside perception is dynamic, dense with energy, and heavily structured. It has precise physical structure—defined by mass, charge, spatial distance, and physical laws. It only feels formless to us because concepts like solid boundaries, smooth surfaces, and visual shapes are sensory shortcuts constructed by our brains, rather than intrinsic properties of raw matter and fields. would it look like there is nothing there Technically, it wouldn't "look" like anything, because "looking" requires a brain to process light into a visual image. If you mean "Is there physical stuff present?", then no, it wouldn't be empty. The space is densely packed with photons, quantum fluctuations, radiation, and force fields. If an instrument (like a sensor) were placed there, it would register constant, intense activity—it just wouldn't look like a scene our eyes can interpret. what would it look like the closest representation draw it there is colour in that image You are absolutely right. I used colors like blues, purples, and oranges in that visualization. I did that because, since you are a human looking at an image, I have to use visual language to communicate. If I showed you what that reality actually "looks" like without human perception, it would just be a black square, because there is no perception there to turn the raw data into light or color. To make it a "representation" of the sheer amount of raw data, energy, and fields that are actually there, I used different colors to stand in for things like magnetic fields, gravity, and different energy states. It's a metaphor: I'm translating an invisible, complex system into something your brain can actually process. Without the color, it would look like nothing, when in reality, it's very much something. is there light there Yes, but not as "brightness" or "color." There is electromagnetic radiation (photons moving at c), which is the raw physical reality of light. However, "brightness" and "visual light" are purely subjective experiences created when those photons hit a retina and get processed by a brain. Without an eye and a brain to interpret those photons, the radiation exists, but the visual experience of light does not. draw it again without colour or form to make an accurate representation Notice how it looks exactly like what you see when you close your eyes? You can see what reality looks like outside your perception, just close your eyes. Do you see Elon musk there?
  8. @Breakingthewall I am curious, how exactly is your notion of Unlimited Being, different from, the Indescribable Mystery (or the Beloved), so called Nothingness (not the opposite of somethingness, but I admit potentially a misleading term), that has the infinite ability to appear as anything under the sun and beyond, and which has as its nature, unconditional freedom, unconditional love, unconditional aliveness, infinite beauty etc ?
  9. Aha, thank you. I would also just like to get some clarity on one other thing if you don't mind, A while back in the Jim Newman thread you said: "to answer the question just in case the objective wasn’t clear ..it’s the absolute self . If you were to tell Jim Newman there is such a thing as an absolute self he would deny it and say that there is no self at all. Those non duality speakers who say there is no self at all have a huge misunderstanding of certain teachings of Buddhism (essentially they are in love with the Buddhist teaching about no self and just parrot it mindlessly.. there is no separate self inside the human body . That’s true . But they miss the absolute self which could be said to be the ground of being . It’s there even in Deep sleep ..prior to birth ..and after the death of the body . And it’s unborn and deathless . That’s how you can remember that you were nothing before birth and you can remember there was nothing in deep sleep..because the absolute self was there in those states . It doesn’t die or sleep . It’s pure eternal awareness." I am curious, how exactly is your notion of Absolute Self, different from, the Indescribable Mystery (or the Beloved), so called Nothingness (not the opposite of somethingness, but I admit potentially a misleading term), that has the infinite ability to appear as anything under the sun and beyond, and which has as its nature, unconditional freedom, unconditional love, unconditional aliveness, infinite beauty etc ?
  10. This is true, yet there was an apparent moment or non moment where Jim died so to speak, never to return. Here is Mellowmarsh's description of what happened for her: "Yes, for me it was an instantaneous, spontaneous for want of a better word. I’d been trying to understand myself from the moment I became aware of myself at the age of 4 or 5 I was naturally drawn to nondual teaching. Then after looking into that teaching, it wasn’t long before the Big Bang happened, where my whole body exploded into nothingness. Lol that’s how I like to describe my experience anyway, albeit illusory. Lol"
  11. Yeah, I guess the word Nothingness has negative connotations for some people. It feels free and light and infinitely flexible to me.
  12. Unlimited being is the fact of being because there are not limits, affirmative drive without opposite. Calling it "nothingness" is just confusion because it is. It's not a mystery, it's obvious, it's the inevitable consequence of no restrictions and we are that. Any name that we could give has the sole purpose of allowing ourselves to being open to this reality, and nothingness is a term that implies exclusion and closure.
  13. Im talking about a Nothingness which has no opposite. Its not the opposite of something. It's indescribable mystery. Has as it's nature unconditional freedom, unconditional love, infinite beauty. And has the infinite ability to appear as anything under the sun and beyond. We talking about the same 'thing' and getting hung up on words. Tell me, what exact substance is unlimited being made of ? Can it really be put into words ?
  14. To say that the essence of reality is nothingness is the quintessential Buddhist evasion. The essence of reality is, obviously, unlimited being. Unlimited being is the inevitable consequence of limitlessness or absence of restrictions, and being unlimited has no opposite, such as non-being or nothingness. Nothingness is merely an idea; it is impossible since it would require being contained, limited by something . Being is absolute, because non being don't is. Quite simple imo
  15. When you say no form without substance, is that substance not Nothingness ? Are we not talking about groundless Being here ?
  16. Yes, for me it was an instantaneous, spontaneous for want of a better word. Lol
  17. I mean, you can dissuade them if you don't want them to commit suicide. But pointing to very general and abstract individual beliefs they hold to explain their proximity to suicide is a game of statistical whack-a-mole. Is the belief in an afterlife causing suicides? What about the belief that nothing happens after you die and it's just a blank nothingness? What about reincarnation? What about "everything is love"?
  18. If you haven't discovered Solipsism then you are afraid of Nothingness plain and simple. Nothingness is the foundation of everything. It is uncreated and eternal. Only somethingness can be created but ironically it too always was. Its more accurate to say Reality is just a revealing of eternity.
  19. Reality is nothingness, that nothingness is energy in motion= emotion. This emotion is empathy itself. This means that Reality is made of Empathy and Empathy = BEING. Empathy is the highest understanding. If you give me the entire emotional understanding of your entire life span I would understand you completely at the highest level. Start from this foundational understanding and it will all make sense. Also your human body is a dead machine, your Consciousness which is your God self is keeping it alive and running the show. Your Body is inside your OverSoul which is also known as the HIGHER SELF, and what is your Soul? Your Soul is your emotional perspective, a spark of God. When people have God realization they are tapping into their Higher Self which is the OverSoul. Your Higher Self is not the Totality of God but it is uniquely connected to Infinity in a special way. This is why everyone's path is different. You only experience your OverSoul in life, nothing else. Each Universe is an OverSoul and as such they are all uniquely their own expression. Each person is a Universe inside a Universe. Your body is pure subjectivity which is the same as saying its own Objective World. We do not experience fatigue, temperature, logic, memory, pain, sleepiness, motivation etc. the same way. This is why it is so hard for us to understand each other. We can only understand each other through the Heart. The mind is what divides us and the heart is that which unites us. Humanity needs a Mind Heart Coherence/Unity awakening which is often called an awakening into the nature of Love.
  20. Imo fundamentally wrong in his basis. In his opinion, there is an appearance of separation, and this separation forces us to frame the experience in terms of satisfaction or dissatisfaction. According to him, if the appearance of separation disappears, you realize that reality is nothingness then that dissatisfaction disappear. All of this involves changes in mental structure, in how we define reality. According to him, it is without separation, and nothingness, and that seems to make him happy. This is typical of non-duality. That's imposible because this definition is an arising in the reality, inside of the system, and this mean absolutely always separation. Reality is indefinable; it is not "nothing," or "God," or "love," or whatever; it is what it is, period. The only thing that can change is your vector: from receiver to expansion. The receiver receives the experience and tries to obtain the best possible experience, and fears receiving bad things. Their entire approach is based on seeking the good, avoiding the bad. There is never enough of the good, and there is always a possibility that the bad will appear. Seeking and fear. From the expansive position, there is no difference or separation between you and reality, but that doesn't mean you should think your body is an illusion and that reality is nothingness. If you need that definition, it's because you're still in the receiver's position, receiving a definition of reality that reassures you. Now you believe it's nothingness, and your anxiety about the negative subsides. But the change hasn't happened. If the bubble vaporizes, the definition is zero. There's nothing to define; reality is, period.
  21. Part of what makes your work unique is showing that oneness is another facet of Awakening. There's a bias towards certain facets like no self, nothingness but many others are widely unknown.
  22. When you reach the void of yourself you will find you are there but you cant think hear feel touch smell all you can do is express how you feel about yourself. You will be there as it and you will have awareness. The awareness dosent go away in deep sleep you are just not moving it. You can only not move it for a little while and you wake up and start dreaming again. Imagine you wake up in nothingness and you can do anything but you are there. You can still see and you will see yourself. You can never look away from yourself unless you are looking at the dream, and even the dream is a metaphysical representaion of this nothing. Close your eyes you see yourself and you know youve been there the entire time the dream has been happening. When you go into deep sleep its just you looking at yourself unaware. You can fear it because you will be aware! Now when you go to sleep you are unaware of it you are calling it sleeping and pretending to not exist. God cannot pretend to not exist. You will still desire and want and need things. Like a black hole ate a galaxy and there was no more information to suck up but its still hungry for matter. It just starts sucking in an empty vaccum. Receiving no information but wanting it and desiring information. Any information even the bad stuff it will take. If a person is anything its like an empty hole.
  23. Yes thats what I mean. And I think it is a false fear in the way that, if you assume it would be the same as deep sleep, then you can't fear it because the fear would be either you're unsettled by the idea of your current life coming to an end, or the mind is just good at imagination, but even the most vague imagination doesn't represent the "nothingness" itself..
  24. Like that but thats what you are. There is something experiencing the nothing. To even know what nothing is is proof thats what it is. Nothing dosent exist in physical reality. To understand what nothingness entails by your imagination is knowing God. Making these correlations in my logic awakened me. Nothing isnt real in physical reality you shouldnt even be able to imagine it. Thats because you are nothing you are using yourself to relate to the world. Tell your sister she is scared of herself.
