"The relative/absolute fallacy": conflating the relative with the absolute. Most contradictions and confusion of terms in spirituality stem from this.

For me, one thing that makes SD convincing is how it aligns with the broad themes of human history: how we evolved from tribes (purple), to empires (red), to nation states (blue), liberal societies (orange), inclusive societies (green) etc.. If human history is a reflection of human development on a collective level, and given that a collective is made up of individuals, then it's not unfair to expect that the model would apply to the development of individuals. -

It's also a mark of a naive mind to think holding that as a belief will be enough to protect yourself from self-deception and bias

If somebody like Trump gets elected, then there is no way somebody like Leo could get elected, not in a million years. -
You'll really just have to get used to this. Most people aren't interested in self-improvement, so naturally they'll most likely not be very developed, and you're just going to keep growing as time passes. Then again, you're still young, so time is on your side. Maybe tomorrow you'll find somebody that can resonate with you .

@Ibraheem From what you wrote, it seems like you do have some disagreement with the person and that is what is causing the anger, which is totally normal. One way to solve the anger issue would be to really investigate the nature of disagreements. Everyone has a set of beliefs that they want to defend, justify and promote, and you can't really blame them: it's just survival. Another way would be to meditate and train yourself to catch the thoughts that are causing the anger, and that will tend to shorten the duration of the anger or keep it from happening at all.

Do you in some way dislike or disagree with gay people?

@Robi Steel Would you say that green communists are worse than neo-nazis? -
I would expect tier 2 people to be more able to deal with other people in tier 1 than a tier 1 person would. That is kinda the character of tier 2: seeing more similarities than differences, understanding people's perspectives and meeting them where they're at. But then again, it can still be hard when you feel that somebody can't relate to your deepest interests or reciprocate that same level of understanding. Good relationships are born out of synergy, and that could be what you feel that you're missing. As for a solution, I'm not very sure what you can do other than trying your luck in places where you'll find the most high consciousness people, which is not really advice but rather encouragement to keep going at it.

You have a tendency to get hung up on the particular meaning of words lol. What is creating that? -

Notice that in your efforts to not control yourself, you will helplessly and inevitably end up controlling yourself. Become aware of that fact. There is a tendency to repress your feelings with certain techniques of meditation, and then questions tend to arise like "should I be making an effort or should I remain effortless?". Rupert Spira once said: "If you feel like making an effort, then make an effort. If you feel like not making an effort, then do that." Whatever you do, you're still yourself. -

You have to keep in mind that we're all victims to this at various scales. If being misinformed is bannable, then 100% of the forum should be banned. -

If you think jumping off a cliff makes you free, then do it, but don't drag the rest of us with you. -

Murder can be wrong relative to a set of beliefs/constraints, but it's not wrong in an absolute sense. Here she has chosen the belief that needless suffering is wrong, which constrains whether or not she thinks it's ok to murder someone, and it's all relative. Needless suffering is not wrong in an absolute sense. You can keep adding different constraints ad nauseum to justify your actions, but the absolute cannot be constrained. An additional common belief that is relevant in this case is the idea that someone's potential future positive experiences have some value, and to kill them would be to rob them from those experiences. Granted, they won't necessarily experience the suffering associated with acknowledging that fact, but it's still a valid point nonetheless.

What will "keeping it" be used for other than survival? The reason why you can't write the infinite knowledge down during the experience is the same reason why you can't keep it in your mind after the experience: you can't operate a limited mind from an unlimited state, and you can't operate an unlimited mind from a limited state; they're incompatible. The thought "I should write it down" doesn't even occur to you, atleast not in its limited form. Why should it? "I" is a limitation, a thought is a limitation, a pen is a limitation, writing is a limitation.
