Ritualistic torture is glorification of violence. Perceiving torture as righteousness only happens in places like Saudi Arabia and Guantanamo Bay. Not something to look up to.

He went to jail for 14 months after all.

People don't like it when you push something on them. It makes you feel needy and clingy. Only mention it if it arises naturally in a conversation. That way you can slowly introduce them to it over many conservations if they're interested. Don't expect some random person to be interested in SD.

Do you have some examples?

Well, that would be answered in the debate, but of course JP backed away. JP likes to conflate the totalitarianism of the Soviet Union with the Nazis, and on top of that conflate those two with the democratic socialists of today. That is the level of analysis JP engages in, so of course he won't have a debate about it. It makes for good entertainment, the audience likes it, but it's just dismissive pseudo-intellectualism. -
Man I'm so done arguing against glorification of stage red.

You provided your own map. Don't fool yourself.

He is a serious academic in the field of psychology. That's it. Richard Wolff wanted to debate him and was given a platform at a university, but JP backed out. -
That explains it.

@Identity What is worryisome about Randall Carlson is how his beef with geological gradualism and the scientific mainstream informs his views on climate change. Essentially, he is saying that in the end, human impact doesn't matter because catastrophism is a thing. He might say he agrees with the sentiment of environmentalists, but he clearly gives off the wrong signals on the matter.

Then it's not satire. -
@Aspiraling Wizard Then that begs the question: where did you get your stats from?
-
@Mosess Regardless, you should know that when it really comes down to it, at the end of the day, you're really on your own. There is nobody that can really help you find out who you are except yourself, nobody you can look to for advice other than yourself, nobody you can trust other than yourself. To know yourself, you must trust yourself and only you.

All you need to know is that his idea of preparing for a debate about communism was to read the communist manifesto, a revolutionary propaganda piece written for peasants in the 1850s. His fear of socialism and the left is overblown. Social democrats won't take your freedoms away. -

Relative/absolute fallacy: conflating the relative domain with the absolute domain.
-
Any examples?
-
I'm not trying to sound like an absolutist here, but don't you think there are more decent ways of handling that situation other than ritualistic torture? I was just pointing out how he, like many other people in that community, inhabit more red qualities than most people (nothing more, nothing less). Breaking the law in itself is most often red, but glorified violence is probably THE hallmark of red.
-
There is a nuance there that we can point out. Integrating blue/red in a healthy way isn't necessarily the same as reacting to and closing yourself off to green, which is often the danger with these types of red pill movements, but of course they do serve their function. It's better to unite the otherwise unruly and repressed masculinity under a blue framework and a community like the one Elliot is providing rather than leaving it unaddressed.
