  1. Lately, I've been feeling a bit burnt out on movies. The last ones I watched, "Obsession" and "Backrooms," both left me feeling underwhelmed. Really looking forward to Primetime. Pattinson is great!
  2. Midnight Mass is excellent. It has cult-like elements, and by the end, it even touches on nondual themes.
  3. It’s more than just interesting—it’s really good! David Cronenberg also made eXistenZ, which is pretty good too.
  4. I finally decided to explore the German spiritual scene, and I’m pleasantly surprised. This Werner Ablass guy is really impressive—he was a student of Ramesh Balsekar. If you understand German, his work is definitely worth checking out.
  5. Torture manuals are okay, though.
  6. The best found footage zombie horror film ever made—your loss!
  7. I did spend too much time on Best Gore when I was a kid.
  8. Not even Rec? Great Spanish movie!
  9. During my teenage years, I set out on a mission to watch the most disturbing movies ever made. By day, I'd work on a video game, and by night, I'd watch films like "A Serbian Film"—that was the summer of 2014. Fond memories!
  10. No one describes the ego and the self-conscious mechanism quite like Bernadette Roberts. Her book "What is Self?" is an impressive achievement. She believed in free will, and she was a monotheist, but aside from that, her explanation of the self-conscious mechanism is unmatched. As a contemplative, she studied the interior movements closely and described them with precision. Check out this interview with her.
  11. The permanent cessation of the self goes beyond merely achieving a meditative state or the dissolution of the subject-object distinction. The self encompasses the entire system of consciousness, and experiencing its irreversible shutdown is truly exceptional. While many individuals may reach a state of no-ego, few seem to attain a state of no-self.
  12. Alright, if that's the case, I want to be Jesus. More than anything in this life, I desire no-self, but apparently, it's not an easy path. Even Roberts needed 20 years in the marketplace stage.
  13. I understand your point, but the idea that "man determines his own person by his own free will" strikes me as incorrect. Did Hitler truly shape himself? Did Jesus do anything other than fulfill his predetermined path? "Not my will, but yours be done." Jesus wasn’t even born into the egoic state of consciousness, so why should he be given credit?
  14. I've watched this four times now, and it still amazes me. It's so deep. The part I really don't agree with is this (from The Real Christ): In my opinion, that's the weakest paragraph she's ever written.
  15. God bless America!

  17. @Elliott Not available in my country.

  19. Adorable android girl, or I'm out.
  20. Excellent clip featuring Campbell. The extended video is interesting as well; it becomes somewhat deterministic and solipsistic towards the end.
  21. Really excited for the streaming release of Backrooms and Obsession, especially the latter—it’s getting a lot of buzz! Hokum, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown for me.
