  1. Christine (2016) is based on the real story of Christine Chubbuck, who committed suicide on TV.
  2. This is surprisingly funny. The Christian guy says, "There's only one world," and the old lady replies, "They'd be frozen to death," and the German guy says, "No, I'm German." 😂
  3. I really enjoyed On the Count of Three. I wish there were more films like it.
  4. Very interesting indeed!
  5. Lolita (1997) It’s surprisingly good. I avoided it for a long time, thinking a book like Lolita, where the prose is the main draw, could never be adapted well for the screen. But I was wrong. The same goes for the Moby-Dick movie with Gregory Peck—surprisingly good.
  6. This is worth reading ⬆️ This too ⬆️ And this ⬆️ And don't forget this ⬆️
  7. Just finished Prey. The mix of Native American and shamanistic themes with alien elements is such a unique concept—it gives off a strong stage purple vibe. It’s a shame we never got a true sequel. Makes me wonder what the ultimate stage purple game would look like; there’s so much potential to explore. This game is available for free on archive.org.
  8. After watching Bloodlines, I decided to check out the rest of the Final Destination series, and it’s surprisingly good. The fourth film is definitely the weakest, while five is probably my second favorite after Bloodlines. The bridge sequence is incredible, and the gymnast’s death is easily the most shocking of all the Final Destination deaths. Usually, I laugh at them, but that one left me stunned. Bloodlines feels like the culmination of everything they’ve learned over the years about making a great Final Destination movie—it’s tightly executed.
  9. I'm playing Prey (2006) at the moment. It's lots of fun: They even killed two little kids: The opening of this game is amazing, with "Don't Fear The Reaper" playing in the background. Older games were so much more creative; they offered short and memorable experiences. Now we have expansive games that feel empty.
  10. @Leo Gura Are you watching with us?
  11. Maybe horse balls could save it from disappointment, though I’ve heard that game features horse assholes instead of horse balls.
  12. Yeah, that movie is wild. I really think Demi Moore deserved an Oscar for it.
  13. I didn’t expect Final Destination: Bloodlines to be so entertaining, but it was hilarious! I’ve only seen the first movie in the series before, and honestly, I think Bloodlines was better. If you’re in the mood for a less uplifting film to end the year, this is the one to watch. I love how it dives into themes of determinism, causality, and predestination—it’s right up my alley
  14. "Zikr (or Dhikr) is an Arabic term meaning 'remembrance,' an essential Islamic act of worshipping Allah by remembering Him through specific praises, words, or phrases, either verbally or silently in the heart, aiming to achieve closeness to God and find peace." - AI Allahu Akbar!
  15. Thy will be done!
  16. "I pursued enlightenment for 40 years and ended up in frustration. After that, I started pursuing the selfish aim of happiness for myself, and I ended up being enlightened." - Ramesh Balsekar Nice! 😀👍
  17. My holy trinity of strategy games is StarCraft II, Anno 2070, and Civilization V.
  18. Exactly. Why has no one mentioned Civ 5 yet? Much more stimulating than most games.
  19. Infinity is wholeness, so I’m basically saying the same thing. Holism = wholeness = health = healing = unity = oneness = infinite = harmony, balance = goodness = love = God = selflessness = wisdom = beauty = holy = heaven = bliss.
  20. A chanting of the Heart Sutra. Translated by Thich Nhat Hanh. Download text here.
  21. The halo represents holiness, and holiness means wholeness.
  22. Rockstar is overrated. I haven’t enjoyed a single game they’ve made. Even the video briefing in Anno 2070 feels more exciting—just listen to that gorgeous soundtrack: God bless Germany!
  23. This concept is also found in Islam: "The Jabriyya believed that humans are constrained to a set path, do not have a choice, and that everything that happens in society happens by God’s will and destiny."
  24. Beautiful! 15:28 especially. And 31:20.
