RisingLane replied to CARDOZZO's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
A notable difference I observed between Bernadette Roberts and Peter Ralston is this: Ralston posits that the self arises solely from the social domain: In contrast, Roberts asserts that the self is independent of society, functioning instead as a product of the brain: I lean toward agreeing with Roberts in this case, but that doesn’t mean Ralston is wrong, as the social domain does play a significant role in the development of self. -

Just finished that chapter. That's where it gets juicy. He's not holding back in this book. -
I'm also interested in learning more about this opportunity. I hope he doesn't say, "I changed my mind about this, and it's canceled," because I'm saving money for it. I hope it happens, whether this year or next, as it could be a life-changing experience! And if he cancels, I’m heading to Vegas anyway to gamble my money away

"If you turn any of this into a belief system I’ll kill you, and then you can find out about death for real. ☺️" Oh, Peter... 🤣 -

It’s only listed on Amazon.com, but it turns out you can order from Germany as well—you just need a credit card, which I don’t have. I really hope a Kindle version gets released, or that it’s made available worldwide, Peter and Brendan, for goodness’ sake! -

I would purchase it right away if I could. Why isn't it available on Amazon.de? -
You can always get a refund, like I did with Silent Hill f, even though I was sure I’d enjoy it. But maybe I judged too fast, too harshly again, just like I did with RE Village.

I’ve heard the gameplay is pretty unique, and there’s a demo out now. I haven’t seen any trailers because I like to go in completely blind.

I decided to give Village another shot, and it really picks up once you reach the castle. I quit too soon the first time, as the opening just doesn’t sit right with me. But if you can push through that first hour, Village turns out to be a solid entry in the series. It’s great to see the Resident Evil franchise thriving. God bless Japan!

I’d choose better rewards if the game offered them. It’s way too luck-based, and I’m over it. I don’t enjoy it anymore, won’t be buying the sequel, and will be playing the RE remakes instead.

Is anyone else interested in Pragmata? Capcom seems to be working on something special.

Mia Goth delivered an amazing performance in Pearl.

The original games are still the best! While Games 5 and 6 get the most criticism, I still find them enjoyable. You just have to take them for what they are—fun action games, not survival horror. Game 7 returns to the series’ roots and is really good, too. I’m just not sure what happened with 8; it strangely didn’t grab me.

Slay the Spire II is releasing in just a few days, but after twenty hours of playing the first game, I still haven’t beaten it. I came so close—the final boss was down to just one HP. Is it really meant to be this hard, or am I just not very good at it?

Requiem is an absolute thrill ride—definitely one of the best Resident Evil games ever, though the remake of the first installment will always hold a special place for me; there’s just something about exploring that mansion with Jill. I never finished Village, got bored after an hour, but I might give it another shot now because I’m craving more RE. Also excited for the upcoming RE movie from the director of Weapons.

Wow, what an episode! It really moved me.
-
Great! I have to pause playing Resident Evil Requiem to watch the next episode of the greatest TV show ever made.
-
Has anyone else been playing Resident Evil Requiem? It's fantastic! The graphics are stunning, and the audio design is incredible. It truly captures the essence of classic Resident Evil while feeling thoroughly modern and cinematic. I love how they've alternated between horror with Grace and action with Leon; it's a really cool approach.

From his website.

That'd be huge! Steven already had Sadhguru on, so he might be interested in having Leo, too.

The Bone Temple wasn't filmed on an iPhone, as it had a different director. Since Danny Boyle is returning for the final entry, perhaps he'll use an iPhone again; I'm not sure. It's definitely an interesting choice. I personally enjoy storytelling. Technical accomplishments alone rarely impress me, which is why I'm not a big fan of Avatar.

Yes! "Part 3 of this trilogy is now in production, and is expected to start filming in March 2026. The story has already been written by Alex Garland as he had written all 3 movies at the same time, and Danny Boyle has said he will be returning to direct the final entry." - IMDb

The Bone Temple is now streaming, but I'm not on board with the general opinion that it surpasses its predecessor. While it has its strengths, it drags too much for my liking. I enjoyed the structure and narrative drive of 28 Years Later much more; this felt like a string of disconnected events. I kept wondering why the story didn't center more on Spike's perspective, especially since the opening scene seemed to set that up so promisingly before abandoning it. On the bright side, the soundtrack is excellent. Here's hoping the next installment improves.
