  1. Hello, I was wondering if anyone has read the book 'Psychology: Themes and Variations 4th Canadian Edition' by Dr. Wayne Weiten and‎ Dr. Doug McCann. It is quite a large book, at least a few hundred pages. It is the recommended text book to read in my psychology class in university, and I was wondering if anyone has anything to say about it. Is it a good read? Yeah? No? Would anyone recommend any other books on psychology? Thank you. (Aspect ratio is not actual)
  2. Homemade no sugar added banana bread with nut butter
  3. Have you taken cold showers or do you take cold showers? Have you had a favorite sport, like when your were younger?
  4. Cold exposure his not very good for me, due to my hands having really bad circulation when my core gets colder, but I have tried cold showers they're not bad.
  5. Actually those studies have been debunked years ago. More recent Studies show that people who eat excessive meat and animal products are actually more deficient in B-12 than Vegans/Vegetarians. The whole Iron, Protein, B-12 ect.. in most cases were myths created by the meat/pharma industries to keep people focusing on what's opposite of optimal health so they can keep making money of peoples lives. This is common knowledge among conscious health & longevity enthusiasts. Which studies show this?@pluto
  6. This ones french, but it could still work. Or this one Though, this one is an instrumental
  7. @Leo Gura Isn't Wikipedia really unreliable? Anyone can put anything they want on it, I would probably look on a more reliable one. And what's the difference between consciousness work and self-inquiry? Is consciousness work stuff contemplation? Or is it meditation, contemplation, lucid dreaming, journaling, OBE's, finding life purpose and so on? Thanks again.
  8. Hello, so a while ago I watched one of Leo's video's talking about religions (I don't remember exactly which one) and in the video he encourages us to do do our own research (which is what he encourages us to do in many of his videos) into what the purpose of religion is. I was wondering if this 'research' would be fine to do in university, like taking a class, which I am currently taking a south Asians religions (the class emphasizes Buddhism and Hinduism) though I don't know if that's what he means by 'research' into religions. Do university classes tend to put biases onto teaching about the religions or are they a good place to learn about them? Or should I literally read books and do research online to learn about different religions? this seems a little unreliable to me though due to how much false info you can get online. Thank you.:D
  9. @Leo Gura Drinking like 4 per day is a way to eliminate acne because it moisturizes the skin, though every expert that I know says that that much is unhealthy.
  10. Here's a good documentary on milk, it talks about controversies associate with consuming it, by getting many different perceptives on it. I find it really surprising as well as interesting how there is so much contriversy around milk, only one of the many dairy products.
  11. @jjer94 Do sprinkle some chocolate chips on those chocolate chip cookies?
  12. Hello everyone, Just wondering what is your favorite food, recipe or meal? Mine are carrots as a food and probably whole wheat sandwiches as a meal Looking forward to hear yours!
  13. @Emerald Yes, I see where your coming from, though the disorder does have a lot of influence over my choices, so that does not help. However, as I gain get to a healthy weight as well as get back to the norm I'll be trying to focus on plant based. But then, because now one that I know is considered healthier because they eat a plant based diet or a vegetation diet or no diet at all kinda makes the motivation for a plant based diet weaker for me due to having not much evidence of it being healthier, that's just for me though. But thank you for your input.
  14. They say that there is more evidence showing that eating meats, dairy, eggs and such along with a varied diet, is healthier than only plant based as well as vegetarian. Because over a large population, there are more people that have less health problems who have consumed meats, dairy, grains, eggs, and fruits and veggies. And the nutrtionfacts.org website is just someone trying to make money off of a limited amount of evidence.
  15. @Space What would you consider to be junk food? Bread, dairy, grains? Or stuff like chips, pizza, granola bars, and deserts like cakes and fast foods? If you ask me, I would go for the second ones, because I actually have a lot bread, dairy, grains and such in my diet.
  16. @Michael569 @Moreira Hummus is nice too, I don't mind it. There are like so many different types which is crazy You can try with some pita, it's not bad either.
  17. @pluto Have you tried 100% dark chocolate? I love the stuff.
  18. Oh wow thank you everyone, I will try to meditate more in the morning, before I do my stretching and carry on the meditation state as long as possible, however I've never really done that, so I don't know how it'll work. Thank you though, and I will watch that video as well @Joseph Maynor .
  19. Hello, I am a beginner with mediation, sort of and I'm wondering what I should do if I would like to get into different mediation practises. I don't know what would be better for me, mindfulness meditation or self-inquire, or even the do nothing tequnique (which I have done, however it was not really working, possibly because I was doing it late at night while I was tired). I am doing meditation where I try to focus on my breathing to help calm my monkey mind, so would any one recommend any other good ones for beginner like me? Though I don't know if its smart to be doing like 4 different meditations every day. Thank you.
  20. Can't you buy healthy bread such as whole grains, and also make pizza from whole grain bread? That's good. Though I will agree on the other stuff though, but having them once in a while is not gonna hurt in my opinion.
  21. Hello, I have a question, what is the difference between a physical death and a psychological death? Because Leo made a video on experiencing physical death with 2C-B, and he also talked with Martin Ball about psychological death with 5-MeO-DMT. Thank you.
  22. Wow, nice job @Joseph Maynor. When I do my mediation, I try to focus on my breath, though for like 95% of the meditation I get carried away by my thoughts, so I'm pretty sure that's just my monkey mind taking over. And also, when I try to focus on the breath, my body starts to tense up a bit, so it's kinda annoying . But anyway, I would like to experience your level of mindfulness, it would be incredible:) Would you recommend any strategies/techniques? Thank you.
  23. I heard that avocado oil was even healthier than olive oil, is this true? My parents friend told my parents about them about that. Though I'm pretty sure olive oil is very healthy, most like better than canola oil.
  24. I think it's just how they are taking Leo's messages. They are very practical and care a lot about how life seems to be, without realizing that it's just how life seems to be. But they do care about learning new ideas and theories in the practical world (such as what we learn in school), but I don't think they are really trying to implement anything that can change their lives into they're own lives, apart from stuff that can help with their survival and the family's (which is what I do too.)
