I really dont think so, but i could be biased because i never saw a math example and thought i could never learn that. You think there is that much difference in two individuals brains? I mean of course there are very different brains, but in my book a regular brain thats capable of walking is capable of rocket science too. It all comes down to psychology and opportunity.

I would argue that even an 80 IQ guy could be capable of doing rocket science level math if given the opportunity and he would be passionate about learning it. His psychology would be a much more influential factor than his IQ. If he sat through school lagging behind in math class, his belief that they cant do math would never let them get good at it. His mind would give up, but not because ultimately he isnt capable enough.

IQ doesnt mean shit. Cognitive development is real, but IQ tests arent a comprehensive measurement for that anyway. Check out Leo’s series about ego development too if you havent.

They might go overboard with regulating it, but i would rather have that than the US technocracy. They can ease up on it later if they want to. Its not like they are missing out on anything by not becoming a competitive on the global market. Subsidize one Australia based AI company and they are good to go.

AI stealing is bad, but i think the datacenters are the worst offenders, no? Well if it goes through, atleast the kangaroos can sleep better.

@cetus That doesnt help LLMs. Its not more processing power that LLMs are missing from becoming AGI. But yeah quantum computing is going to be insane.

@Wilhelm44 Not in a 1000 years. They can be extremely useful for example finding protein folds, but AGI is a different question.

@Wilhelm44 As long as you mean infinite = “a lot” and not actual infinity, sure. Are LLMs or their near future potential that great that we should prioritize developing them as much as we are? Hell nah.

Thats a very good question. Original insight / thought has been a topic on the forum a while ago, but i havent contemplated on it yet. What do you think?

Im not sure how to talk about this without inviting more confusion than if i didnt say anything lol. Consciousness isnt exclusive to humans. Consciousness is what reality is made out of. So by design everything is consciouss including the computers. Does that mean they are on a human level ? No. There is a lot more to humans than raw processing power.

I’ll just say this: LLMs or any kind of AI that we have are nowhere near close to human intelligence / consciousness.

Sex is only good because its human. Keep away from meth, AI, and oil executives.

The cutoff should be about 50 million dollars per person. You can secure a luxurious lifestyle from that for 30 years and invest / start any kind of business. More money only serves as a tool for power and securing unfair advantages. Reality isnt this simple of course, but in principle everyone should be taxed so you cant have more than 50 mill. Or atleast tax it very heavily and if you still manage to accumulate more, good for you.

Good insight. Similar in nature to the collapse of free will / no free will duality, no? You could say laziness doesnt exist either, no? Maybe we could write a whole list. But i dont spend much time observing this kind of insights nowadays.
