  1. @Leo Gura Yes, you're right. I have this problem where I tend to overconceptualize about stuff without experiencing it. Thanks for the wake up call.
  2. It's so damn confusing! what is it that makes decisions at all? Is there such a thing as a decision or is everything predetermined by influences? This stuff is so awesome to think about, to even regard that I used to not consider any other possibility that I am the 'controller'. It's crazy
  3. But then, there is something that is making the decisions. If there is a decision to go walk to my next classroom for example, what is it that is making that decision and why does it feel like ' I ' am making that decision. If there is a thought " Should I go to the classroom? " there is something that says " Yes". Who is that?
  4. Observe what rejects being bored. What is it that gets bored? Is what you are that feeling of boredom or that that is aware of being bored?
  5. " Looking for happiness in the body, mind or world is like looking for the screen in a movie. The screen doesn’t appear in the movie, and yet, at the same time, all that is seen in the movie is the screen. In the same way that the screen ‘hides’ in plain view, so happiness ‘hides’ in all experience." -Rupert Spira I felt like sharing this with you guys. This quote is something pretty deep
  6. @Serotoninluv Well isn’t that what we are all looking for one way or the other?
  7. I hear Leo often talk about raising awareness. To me that is very confusing. I watch and am very involved in Rupert Spira's teachings and one of the things he said when I was at one of his retreats was, ( I'm paraphrasing here ) "One does not have to do mantra meditation or whatever for 20 years to find his true nature because it is already there and couldn't be any different. Are you not the one that knows your experience?" Rupert also talks about dismanteling ones focus on objects and bringing it back to it roots. Awareness being aware of itself. Is that something that could mean the same as what Leo is talking about? Raising ones awareness = Dismanteling focus on objects and bringing awareness back to itself to abide in it's own presence. ?
  8. I have been meditating since I was 15. It is definitely something that has helped me a ton. You’ll be fine m8. The confusion and loneliness is all part of it. But it will be nothing to worry about in the end. When you find out who you really are, all those problems will resolve itself and you will be come more authentic automatically. If you feel unsure about psychedelics you can also stop doing them for now and get back at it when you feel more ready So keep at it, you are doing great!
  9. @WelcometoReality You are very wise. Thanks for all your comments, they are really appreciated.
  10. I just commited to meditating every day. I stopped listening to my thoughts about doing it or not because there is always a chance that it’s some sneaky way of the ego to make me stop. So when you go through fases where meditating feels awful, that’s great. You are releasing emotions and resistance. After that you will feel 2 times better as you did before going through the fase. So it’s all worth it
  11. @Heart of Space Hahahah, it’s all good man. Much love to you
  12. @Heart of Space Why do you have to be so rude? Just look at what OP has to say and if you don’t care or don’t agree, just don’t respond.
  13. Brain damage doesn’t affect consciousness. It affects the content that appears in consciousness.
  14. @ThinAir I was trying to let him know that the belief that enlightenment is almost certainly impossible is fake.
  15. Enlightenment isn’t lightyears away. It is happening every second of your life. It is not something that can only be obtained by some white bearded man on top of a mountain. It is the simple recognition that you are not thoughts, emotions, a body, or sensations. No, you are aware of all those things. You are the ‘knowing element’ of every experience so you could say, you are all that is. You are intimately one with ever experience but at the same time not dependent on it. When you explore your own experience with great wonder it is inevitable that ‘you’ will wake up one day.
  16. That is very rough, much love to you man. Are your friends and family oke?
  17. @Joseph Maynor Yes the most genuine smiles I have ever seen came from children. They express love itself
  18. So I’m busy delivering the paper then suddenly a 4 year old kid comes running by and asks me spontaneously “ What are you? “ , I reply with “ Yes indeed, What am I?” Crazy how little stuf like this can make my day.
  19. @Mad Max I’m going through something similar. It feels so lonely and painful to lose friends even though I know we are both taking different routes in life and it is probably for the best.
  20. Beautiful how he was just smiling brightly without any reason at all. What is better than that?
  21. @Nahm If I an am something that is inherently peaceful, then what is sad?
  22. @Nahm So what you are saying here means ‘ Take everything out of life ‘ ?
