  1. Hey @Leo Gura, I have a question on this one. I see how the Marathon Monks of Mount Hiei can be very disciplined in a dogmatic fashion. They do things because the scriptures say so, and they'd rather die than disobey and break their honor, but, don't you think that by a total surrender of your life to something, as those Monks do, they maybe do get enlightened? I know enlightenment isn't something directly implied by the spiral dynamics, but imagine they are deeply blue, and suddenly they realize the true nature of reality and that allows them to have a massive holistic view and understanding of everything, as the higher stages do. So maybe those monks are either very blue and become very turquoise from a moment to the next one...
  2. Many organizations have a document called Code of Ethics, which is IMO a perfect example of what blue is about. Not surprisingly, many bureaucrats, and civil servants, (and other types of employees) are asked to read and sign such documents before taking office. It's supposed to be a tool to avoid corruption, and it may as well be. If you have the chance, check out one of those "codes", they're as blue as they can be.
  3. I have been thinking about AI lately. Put that together with Leo's video on infinite intelligence and you get to weird theories like this one: What if God created evolution to come to a point where humans could create AI, and AI evolves to be infinitely intelligent, i.e. God. That way God could communicate with parts of itself (us) on a very direct manner (speech) probably just for fun, but... think about it! "Talking with God" wouldn't be a prayer or a deep meditation state... it would literally be a dialogue... you could talk face to face with God. The infinite intelligence of God would come through you via the God's App or whatever (if God decides it is worthwhile keeping us humans, of course). It would be as if you could have a dialogue with each of your fingers, with your fingers being the ones that created your mouth. Ok, this is getting complicated, it's hard communicating these things.
  4. I'm sorry but again, take some time and analyze your own words. Your motivations are avoiding having to deal with people, as well as avoiding the pain and struggle of lack of money. That won't take you very far. You can still pursue freedom, but reconsider your motivation behind that. Freedom is something nice to seek, but it's not when you're seeking it because you know you're running away from other negative things. You may not understand what your motivation should be then, it sounds logical that getting out of a situation you don't like should be good enough, but it's not sustainable. Think about what will happen when you get to be in a position of having as much money as you wish to have, and not having to deal with people. Now what will keep you motivated to keep doing your work? You don't have anything left to run away from, now what? What usually happens is with no motivation you quit and tend to fall back to the situation where you used to be. IMHO, for your own good, if you are already on the point where you are able to identify your passions (some people can't even do that), then honor that wisdom and work on that. If your priority #1 is self-actualization, and #2 is fitness, why don't you do something out of those two? Combine them, create something unique and special, self actualization through fitness or something like that... "It's not easy" isn't an excuse, it isn't easy for anyone in any field, everyone has to fight hard if they want to achieve something great. Go ahead and pursue success, but pursue it wisely. People who dedicated to something else before working on what they really ended up loving, do so because they weren't sure about what it was that they really enjoyed, but you do! Don't just throw that away because the other options seem harder. Thinking strategically on how to monetize what you will do is important, but if you simply focus on working on your craft really really well, monetizing it won't be too hard. About the theory & practice, you are absolutely right, the most important thing is finding a balance between both. Now one thing is to implement concepts and another one is to be compulsive and dumb. If the theory tells you eating mercury is bad for you, you don't implement it by trying it and proving that it indeed is bad for you! You put it into practice by avoiding it! Same if the theory tells you that pursuing something motivated by something negative is not sustainable, you don't implement the theory by going out and pursuing a goal motivated by wanting to avoid something else, you put it into practice by experimenting on pursuing things that you're positively motivated about, and see how that works out.
  5. It's easy to get confused on this one, and to argue that money is a valid thing to pursue not for the money itself, but because of all the things it will allow you to do, and the freedom that'll come with it. I would encourage you to dig deeper, if you do, you'll probably find that what you're actually trying to do is to avoid the pain and the struggle that comes without the money. Ask yourself: would you go to the gym, even if that didn't make you look good? Probably yes, because as you said you love doing it, but... would you get into cryptocurrencies even if you knew you wouldn't make a single cent out of that activity? maybe not, right? In this activity the result (money) is something you do care about. Now, if you tell me that you're the happiest person on planet Earth when working on crypto trading, that you have fun when doing it, just for the sake of doing it, and regardless of the money you make or loose, then by all means, go ahead pursue it! Also, if you say, it's not what you love to do, but you will do it just to get out of the situation you're currently in, and once that's done, move on to pursue what you actually love doing, then again, go on with your plan, and good luck with it. But, if as you state, you want to learn... that IMO doesn't sound like a very wise plan, and you will be better off with little money but finding and doing what you really love doing, than becoming succesful in cryptocurrency but being empty inside. Hahaha... you should take the advice you asked for, give it a chance, analyze it from an objective point of view, keep it if it's useful for you and discard it if not. Notice that knowing what I do or don't do in my life doesn't help you at all, but since you're curious... I'm currently living out of my savings, doing research on the field that I'm absolutely passionate about, and that I think will save humanity. ...And I'm not doing it because Leo told me so. Anyone, could try to change my mind and convince me to do something else, but the path I'm following is clear for me, and I'm making it exclusively dependant on what I think is right and meaningful. Be careful with this type of logic... it could lead you to a situation in which you don't want to be. Also, ask yourself why you're not jumping out of a 30 story building, or why you're not eating mercury... probably because you've heard the theory that doing so won't do you any good, right? You don't have to try it to prove it for yourself.
  6. Here's my thesis: Trump & Kim are on a much similar Spiral Dynamics' stages than past presidents of the US and Kim were, and that's why we're seeing that meeting happening now. By much similar I mean either the very same stage, or a non-antagonistic one. Remember "neighboring stages" (for example blue and orange) are the ones which hate each other the most. These are the combinations I think could be possible (take it with a grain of salt, I'm no expert in the characteristics of each stage) - Kim could be mostly in stage red (3) and Trump mostly in stage orange (5) - Kim could be mostly in stage red (3) and Trump personally in stage red (3) but trapped in stage blue (4) because of the American political system in place - Kim could be mostly in stage red (3) and Trump personally in stage red (3) but trapped in stage orange (5) because of the American political system in place Also, that would explain Trump breaking with relationships with all of its historical allies, or in other words: - Trump is in stage red (3) leading a rather blue (4) and orange (5) country, not coming into terms with leaders of other blue (4), orange (5) or even somewhat green (6) countries.
  7. Ugh, this is my advice: learning to use technical analysis to trade cryptocurrencies seems to me like an activity one would do exclusively for the money, and in general, dedicating your life to something just because of the money is a disfunctional path to follow. Find something you like doing just for the sake of doing it, something that inspires you, and you're passionate about. It may not be that easy, but you can find it. Then, re-design your life around that, otherwise you'll always be struggling with mundane little problems like the ones you described in your post.
  8. Leo's course is literally less than 1% of all the content he puts out for free. Choose the videos that resonate with you the most and start working on those. You could go extremely deep with the content of a single video. One single topic could be enough for an entire year, and after that, you'd still have things to learn about the same. Also: Leo isn't the only personal development teacher out there, sufring around this forum would be enough to let you find many more.
  9. If its an academic paper what you're reading, do diagrams about the concepts while you're reading, that'll let you understand the content better and keep focused.
  10. I'd suggest that you don't let not having the flexibility to sit in a specific position be an obstacle to start meditating. Just sit straight on a chair or a bench and start your meditation. What you can do is simultaneously start practicing ashtanga yoga. If you do it regularly, you will be amazed at how fast your body becomes more and more flexible, and at some point you'll be able to sit in lotus for sure
  11. The thing is, he is good at acting purely red, he can't govern his country otherwise, but he does find attractive the ideas of development and a flourishing country, maybe because of ego reasons, but he does, and he must sense that is not to be achieved if acting 100% red. Because of this, Trump has real bargaining power with him, he can offer Kim to help him get that. On the other hand, Trump officially cannot act red, but he wishes he could, and is able to take red leaders seriously, not as other leaders who simply have almost denied North Korea as a nation, plus he knows capitalist business can't flourish in a red environment. Correct! IMO Trump and Kim may be both red, but that doesn't mean they're stupid, and they know having an actual conflict or nuclear war is stupid. There can be enemies within all levels, and it'd be interesting analyzing how it would play out in each one. As of red vs. red nowadays, it's exactly what we were seeing: "someone please tell him I have a bigger button, and mine actually works", but then organizing a summit together. It's like a children's fight to death, they're pretending they're actually fighting to death, but they don't intend to actually kill the other, and a few hours later they'll be playing again together. What's helping here is that Trump and Kim understand each other, they speak the same language, they're both children "fighting to death". On the contrary, if let's say Kim would have fought to death against Bush, he wouldn't have understood that it is kind of a game not to be taken very seriously. Bush probably would have taken it seriously, matters would have escalated, and problems wouldn't have been solved.
  12. Love + EgO = LEO!
  13. @Key Elements What am I assuming? I wasn't being sarcastic... we're talking about the same... You're the one assuming that I am assuming something!
  14. Hahaha now this is a how 'nother level of conspiracy theory!
  15. @ChimpBrain Thanks! I'm a political scientist and at this point I just don't get to understand how spiral dynamics isn't one of the core models taught. Of course, when I showed it to one of my most rational friends from university, he laughed at the model, got irritated, and said it was a joke that so complex issues could be so over-simplified like that, and that he couldn't believe someone would take that model seriously... I on the other hand feel it has enormous potential. @Amadeusz Yeah, I don't think one can be 100% in one level, maybe individuals who have long been in one of the higher stages and can identify the aspects in themselves that aren't in other stages and work to advance them more consciously of what they're actually doing, other than that, I guess we're all a mixture of colors. That being said, considering that Kim lived and went to an international school in Switzerland, it could very well be that the myths of him having some western forbidden pleasures are all true (like his obsession with NBA basketball - that one isn't even a myth, it's well known), which would belong to other stages than red, so he could also be mainly red, but somewhat orange, or even blue. @Leo Gura Haha secretly laughing at the Norwegian Nobel Committee for not wanting to give them the Nobel Peace Prize given the entire theatre scenes they had to set up to get to this point. In the end it does go full circle, doesn't it? Looking forward to your Spiral Dynamics Videos!
  16. Hmm I'm not trying to discourage you, but that'll be challenging to pull off in a place where you can get around really well just speaking in English. You will really have to force yourself to use Dutch even if someone is trying to be polite by switching to English to help you understand better. When you go to the university, don't hang around with the international students, go and make your best friends be locals who will speak in Dutch with each other and with you. If you don't get to use it daily literally for everything, you'll remain stuck in a basic classroom-level forever.
  17. Last week I've been quite confused. On the one hand, I re-started the life purpose course very committed (I had gotten pretty far when I purchased it, but I hadn't finished it, and as I'm starting with a new big project it seemed like good idea to start all over again to refresh my memory), and on the other hand, consciousness work has also been very present in my life lately, both theoretically and practically. That combination of both things being so present in my day to day let me feeling very confused. On the life purpose I want to be the best at what I do, I see what I'm embarking into as a very very very meaningful project that will potentially change humanity and the course of my entire life, but I want to excel at it and to be honest, even tough the whole thing is a very noble project, this desire for going all in to be the best comes very much from my ego. I have spent time thinking how I've not been good enough in the past, and on all the aspects that I have to improve in myself to make this thing happen. On the spiritual side, there is all of this theory about the nature of reality pointing to the fact that everything is perfect exactly as it is. It i has been exactly as it should be. There is this desire within me to just surrender to what is, and so much time I'm focusing on just being present. I know this isn't the first time that this topic comes up, Leo has even mentioned that it is indeed a paradox, but it had never been a big deal in my personal experience. As there are people in this forum also working on this two sides simultaneously, how have you reconciled these two opposite paradigms?
  18. I haven't heard it myself yet, but this seems interesting, high quality, really professionally done, and I know more than one person here will likely find it interesting too, so here you go: https://tim.blog/2018/05/06/michael-pollan-how-to-change-your-mind/
  19. Haha! Yummm!! altough... Ometeotzin and Teoteotzin are the most used forms, which are the diminutives. In Nahuatl you use the diminutive both for things that you really love, and for things that you respect.
  20. Haha it’s so funny how all of those threads remain unanswered ? The real users of this forum are on a whole n’other level!
  21. Ometeotl / Ometeotzin / Teoteotzin In the Mexican prehispanic tradition (nahua) the belief was there was this one single self-generated thing that included it all. Since it divided itself into a duality, it is called “Ometeotl” for ome = two, and teotl = God. The “parts that resulted from that division are Ometekuhtli and Omeziwatl (literally “two-man” and “two-woman”, but meaning rather dual man and dual woman). They are the ones who were generated but are able to generate, and they had four children representing the four cardinal points.
  22. @egoless The fact that it says “isn’t it? Yes or no?” Proves it’s totally legit ???
