  1. Do you know how many ballistic missiles Iran has and how many they've used so far? Look it up.
  2. This is kind of a ridiculous take. Iran has been absolutely embarrassed both domestically and Internationally. They will damage Israel in the process but Israel has already inflicted severe damage to the Iranian regime. They've killed most of their military leadership, destroyed many ballistic missile sites, severely impacted other nuclear sites, and now they've made enough progress for the Americans to feel good enough about contributing to the cause. The Israelis have full air supremacy over Iran, they can come and go as they please. Meanwhile, Iran has a few weeks of missiles left. They will run out and become sitting ducks. The supreme leader is mentally distraught and in hiding. It's now a question of whether he will even survive past the next month, let alone be some kind of victor in this mess. This reminds me of the Hezbollah conflict where posters here were hyping up all of Hezbollah's small victories and how strong Nasrallah was. Hezbollah isn't like Hamas, they ACTUALLY have a potent force. Ok, and now they are broken.
  3. All nations involved are belligerents in your own words and in their own ways. There are no "good guys" here. Iran's actions are not just rhetoric. They have horrendous conditions for their citizens, tons of domestic issues yet they divert a large percentage of their funds towards militant groups whose main purpose is to torment and destroy Israel. We demonize Israel for having theoretical imperial aspirations, yet Iran literally is imperial, has proxies all over the Middle East and we want to put them on some kind of high horse. If Iran wasn't so obsessed with Israel, no one would care if they had nukes. They probably would have had them decades ago.
  4. Don't make it your nation's highest purpose to destroy another nation who is close allies with a superpower.
  5. Is that a serious question? They were thwarted by Israel each time. Stuxnet, bombing campaigns, and yes - diplomacy too. Governments are always juggling 100s of priorities. Obama convinced them sanctions relief would be better than continuing their program. Perhaps it was a great move.
  6. Just because you say so? They enriched uranium past energy levels, closer to weapon grade. Multiple times. They arm and fund anti Israel groups all over the region.
  7. Yeah, and if my grandmother had wheels she would be a bike. Because they can't and are not allowed to.
  8. They just hand wave that away as propaganda.
  9. Difficult and unlikely for sure. Bombing civilians isn't the idea, creating conditions for revolutionaries is. It's also possible that they are pushing Iran to a very aggressive nuclear deal with the U.S. though this also seems far fetched. I really don't know what the long term thinking is.
  10. Unclear. There are opposing reports outlining the damage Israel did to their nuclear capabilities. We don't know how close they actually were, what impact Israel's attack made, what impact taking out the scientists has had, etc. I personally think Israel is going for full on regime change and that is what they hope the U.S. involvement will lead to. You can't really stop the Ayatolla from going after nukes but possibly installing a new regime could. Tbh I think in every scenario it is a huge gamble and we don't know how it will play out.
  11. Great you found a post from 2 months after the attack where I believed the objective was to destroy Hamas. I even outlined what I thought could happen, take out Hamas leadership and install an international peacekeeping force in the area. At no point was I in favor of a forever war that leads to the destruction of all Gazans. Nor was I ever pleased to see it unfold.
  12. I'm pretty sure I pointed out that the intention behind the pager attack was to target Hezbollah militants. I certainly wasn't happy that an 8 year old was killed. I definitely wouldn't be the one to post that here as if it's an achievement. No one here from the Israeli side is posting here highlighting each time a Gazan or Gazan building is destroyed. That is the pro Palestinian side. For good reason. When we see that, we are ashamed by it, not pleased. Where did you gather that I don't want a ceasefire? Are you responding to me personally or just generally to anyone pro Israel? I'm pretty sure most of my posts have been geared towards two state solution and peaceful negotiations. Which whether you believe they are realistic or not, is my north star.
  13. When you're posting the damage to Israeli civilians / infra exclusively without also highlighting Iran's damage, it definitely comes across as selective and celebratory rather than news coverage. You once again missed the point, you are the one who doesn't get it. Both Israel and Iran are overwhelmingly going after military targets, yet there are civilian casualties. That is the very unfortunate cost of war. We are never happy to see that happen no matter who is on the receiving end. Oct 7 was an operation with the intent to cause as much widespread damage as possible, civilian or not. Why is it so hard for you to understand the difference? I don't know why I bother with you actually.
  14. Because Israel doesn't let them. It's just odd to see these celebratory posts of civilian death and infrastructure here. It exists in Israeli society, but no Israelis or pro Israelis are here celebrating the destruction of Gazan civilians or Iranian civilians / infrastructure. Military targets, sure.
  15. I agree with you that support for Israel is dropping. I just don't think this will ultimately change the outcome. The Israelis aren't going to self destruct because of international pressure. There will either need to be a two state peace plan or an all out war where Israel is militarily defeated. In which case, from the river to the sea would become the reality where Jews are wiped out. The rest is fantasy.
  16. People are individuals. That's why these blanket attacks on individuals are stupid. Even if you believe a nation represents you, that shouldn't excuse any form of antisemitism or Islamophobia. That is the message we should be spreading... not hey Jews you should blame Israel! or... hey Muslims if you identify with being xyz you shouldn't complain about Islamophobia!
  17. I've never seen anyone argue that Muslim nations should be blamed for Islamophobia and that Muslims should be upset with those nations in response to Islamophobia. Show me where in practice anyone has made this argument? Yet it's done to Jews. The double standard is crazy.
  18. I believe the main hang up there were allusions to something like the right of return which is a non starter to negotiations with Israel. There were likewise many agreements the Palestinians rejected for other reasons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_Peace_Initiative There were efforts by some Israelis to counter but I don't think they went anywhere either unfortunately.
  19. That is the general sentiment most Israelis have. There are always opportunities to improve your circumstances and focus on a good life. That's what Israelis do. It is very obvious to them how they would handle the same situations vastly differently. And it feels like they would rather hurt us than help themselves.
  20. And Syria and Egypt and Iraq and pretty much any Muslim nation which has enacted violence on it's own citizens or others? Practically speaking we don't do that. We don't tell Muslims they should blame Muslim nations for our behavior towards them. We dissuade Islamophobia without pretenses.
  21. Should Muslims blame a particular nation each time one of them does something wrong and islamophobia is the result? Do you sing the same tune then?
