I have already read the first book, The Will to Change, and it blew my mind a few times. bell hooks details so well some of the problems that we men face, it seems unbelievable that a woman could know them so well. If all feminists had the same compassion for men, didn’t demonize us, and understood that patriarchy is a structural problem created not only by evil men but also by women, many more men would feel comfortable joining feminist movement. I’ve combined reading this book with interviews with influential feminists, and some of them try to marginalize and demonize men. They are probably a minority, but they have greater representation in the media because they generate more polarizing content.

I don't think so. What I do see as possible is the emergence of more subtle systems of oppression. Not written down anywhere as blatantly as in the 19th century, but still profoundly unjust.

They read newspapers aligned with their cognitive bias, which is better compared to the junk people read online today but not great. However, keep one thing in mind, those same working-class Americans you mention, who read state, local, and national news, once they moved from low class to a comfortable lifestyle and considered themselves part of the "privileged" group, have shifted to voting for the right and far-right in the last 10 years. You said it yourself: "which party/candidates in every race were truly for their interests." And that’s the crux of the matter, people vote for the candidate they believe will benefit them most immediately.

Thank you for the list. I’d been wanting to read about this topic for a while as part of my process of integrating stage green, but I didn’t know where to start. I already know ContraPoints, it was one of the first that opened my eyes but I recognise I haven't watched many of her videos. One question: The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir, ouldn't it be too long and heavy for someone not familiar with the topic?

Interesting. what good book would you recommend about this topic?

There’s some truth to that. I’m convinced many young men who are alone would moderate their political views if they found a woman who loved them.

It’s tempting to fall into defeatism and view everything with pessimism now, but I believe the Democrats just need to put forward an appealing candidate for the masses, grit their teeth for 4 years, and wait for Trump to mess up (which he will). Eventually, people will get tired of him again.

Being a sheep is better than being an erratic goat believing all kinds of alternative media junk.

We definitely need more feminine energy in politics and positions of power. But go and tell this to a right-winger, they’ll see you as soft and incapable of managing the real world.

If you truly believe that, you're not far off from the average MAGA mindset. Leo should lock this thread for low quality.

All Americans in this forum should whip themselves on the back, then go out on their knees and ask the world for forgiveness for electing Trump. -
I don’t see disagreement as a problem. However, if I notice that the other person responds emotionally and isn’t open to the possibility of being wrong, I end the conversation and make sure not to discuss politics with them in the future. I don’t mind if a person has little education, but I can’t stand anymore sectarian who never admit they might be wrong.

An America under Donald Trump, despite everything, is still much better than the shitholes most immigrants come from.

Agreed, there was a shift during COVID. But I'm starting to doubt that they are so "smart". I mean they are grown up adults, not 20 years old trying to get rich quickly by manipulating the system. At some point they have to look in the mirror and recognize how full of shit they are.

Just fucking embrace the Green Stage, it’s the beautiful one, the one that reconnects you with nature, your community, and your country. Sure, it has its share of lunatics, like all stages, but if you think you’ll reach Yellow by rejecting Green, you’re just bullshitting yourself. -
I wonder if Jordan Peterson, Elon Musk, and Joe Rogan and other say what they say about Trump out of ignorance or simply to appease the base of followers that supports them. I'd prefer it were the former, though I fear it’s a combination of both. It’s truly disgusting.

Those that are inclusive but without falling into naivety. Some sort of moderate socialism for me.

I believe what happens to them is that they remember their youth with fondness and nostalgia and confuse that with the idea that the regime was better than the current one.

Israel seems quite blue to me. Violence is not only perpetrated by red.

Not only does it take 600+ hours, but if you don't keep practicing after that, you'll forget it. It's very ungrateful to learn languages, it's like skipping the gym for 3 weeks.

This debate belongs to the 20th century. Communism failed, we should waste our time discussing how to limit the excesses of capitalism, or better yet, progress to a better system based on its foundations.

I think you must be a big piece of shit for hiding behind children and women, no matter how true your cause is. And also for justifying that it's okay to kill 10 civilians for every terrorist. -
I wouldn't recommend working first on the spiritual aspect. Finance and career should be the foundations.

It seems interesting, I'll check it out. I think reading about former intelligence agents and spies is a great way to understand how politics works.
