  1. Watch out. Pride is toxic and can sound paradoxically elegant. If you want to grow, mind your own learning process and stop praising your own self-proclaimed greatness, mr. God.
  2. @kieranperez Truth is for the thirsty ones. Small piece of advice: let those intoxicated by pride be. Every human life is an amazing quest.
  3. Ah, there it goes again... Wake up! Bending over to the impulse of creating useless threads and the short-term fulfillment that arises when people confirm your experiences are also TRAPS.
  4. Yes. But there are also moments of genuine connection with Truth, which feel like Truth is simply contemplating itself, verbalizing to itself and amazing itself. It's like the difference between arguing and composing poetry. Don't get me wrong, though. This is not a wrong thing to do. It's just the natural path on which Truth becomes fully aware of itself through human beings. We gradually become less conceptual and more experiential.
  5. I don't think children are mature enough to feel Love consciously. Personally, I have no memories of feeling Love when I was a child. Love was a completely new thing to me on my 25's.
  6. @LambChop To me, it sounds like you're bypassing an emotional wound. We're supposed to profit from broken relationships by becoming wiser and more deeply connected to what we want to do in our lives. But the way that you said it made me think that you're just sweeping it all under the carpet. If you got into a new relationship after your ex dumped you just to feel less lonely, it's a big red flag. I would have taken a while to breathe and understand who I AM. In fact, that's what I did before I met my wife.
  7. Short answer: yes. It depends on how genuinely thirsty for Truth you feel. If you're not willing to implement rigorous and efficient practices, then forget about it.
  8. It's inevitable. Specially in new fields/services. It depends on the job. Particularly, I am a Data Scientist, so my work is to analyse datasets and design statistical models. But there are also Data Engineers, who are responsible to ensure the data quality. And there are the Machine Learning Engineers, who plug models designed by Data Scientists in production.
  9. My paycheck is relatively high, but the company's balance is still red for now (slowly migrating to neutral and then to green).
  10. He was talking about trading stocks specifically. And I agree with him. I'm currently working on a AI system to buy and sell stocks and I'm aware of the fact that I'm not generating any value. It feels like I'm just draining money from other people because when someone wins, others lose. There's 0 value added to the world except for what I intend to do with the money, which may differ from most people since I'm not buying junk food, alcohol & other shitty drugs. My final goal is to use it for philanthropy.
  11. @Jcent Oh, so you mean really long periods of conscious work. I thought that 10 days were long enough I lived in an ashram for a while, but as Leo said, it's quite demanding. Good luck on your choice!
  12. @Jcent Some people have already mentioned it here, but I highly recommend Vipassana retreats because they're very intensive and provide a good setup. And also, they're free.
  13. It's amazing. The hardest part is becoming part of some challenging project that's financially viable. But you can start working on that from today. Build an interesting portfolio (Github page/repos, Kaggle competitions/kernels etc) and things should go a lot smoother for you in the near future. For me, working with AI = creativity + mathematics. It gives me the feeling that I'm working at my peak.
  14. Sorry @Aakash but this thread is doing more harm than good to you. Too much wording already. Watch the struggle of the mind for now. It's a roller-coaster!
  15. @StarStruck If there is still at least the smallest spark of will to make people "understand" what you're talking about, there's also a lot of work to do. It means that you're still stuck in the conceptual level. Far far beyond the mind there's just mundane being. Chopp wood and carry water
  16. Sounds like a small glimpse of Truth followed by a huge backlash of the mind struggling to reconstruct its self-image as soon as possible. Maybe this will help: "you", the perceiver of the experience was not (and is not) the person "Shaun", but something deeper and more fundamental, prior to "Shaun". This "thing" is Reality itself, aware of itself, and all-alone.
  17. Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence. I'm a Data Scientist in a huge Brazilian bank. It's a new digital bank that does not exploit its clients and thus it's VERY HARD for us to make profit.
  18. Many layers of deception here. Have you ever been to a retreat or taken a breakthrough dosage of a psychedelic that's capable of making Truth more noticeable?
  19. @Buba What do you define as "hallucinations"?
  20. We're all responsible for being the righteous restorers of mankind. Pathological Blue wants to be obeyed. Stage Blue traits are not bad... they're supposed to be wisely integrated.
  21. It can be understood that way, since glimpses of Truth can make the ego finally understand (among other things) why being harmless is the best way of living.
  22. This is tricky, but Truth is appreciated for Truth's sake. It does not serve the ego. The ego can serve Truth, but the other way around is illusory devilry (flashes of Full Metal Alchemist popping up in my mind).
  23. @theking00 Becoming fully aware of it as it happens is the first big step. Time should take care of the rest.
  24. Good thread. I'm looking forward to contributing. I've only taken it in the form of Ayahuasca and the results in the long run are amazing.
  25. GOD as "all-knowing" is not something to be grasped with the mind. Rather, it's already happening! This little avatar called "ajasatya" doesn't need to know what lies beyond its experience (neither can it).
