  1. I just finished watching Leo’s “What Is Love?” video. First of all, wow... what an extraordinary episode. I especially liked the part near the end where he demonstrates a fake vs. a real smile. I highly recommend this episode for anyone open to hearing an in-depth explanation of why most of us fail at loving one another (to various degrees of course). I even suggest watching this video with those close to you, in my opinion, like family members (like I did) or an intimate partner because I feel like this episode has great impact when you watch it with them as long as they’re open to it. Near the end of the video he gives practical tips on how to practice love in our day-to-day lives. One idea that sprung up after finishing the episode was to create a habit to hug each my immediate family members once a day when we’re all together (i.e. my dad, mom, sister; we do live together). I gave this suggestion to them, and they were very open to it. So we tried it yesterday, and of course I didn’t feel 100% genuine while doing it. I honestly never hugged them before, except my dad in a playful manner. I would cuddle him in bed as a kind of joke for some reason; he hated and resisted it lmao. So the only time I hugged them consistently and not in a joking way was when I was a child.. I’m 23 now. There was actually one spontaneous moment a few weeks ago when I experienced a mystical experience that left me in awe. It was so profound, but so clear at the same time, that I was left with unquestionable love for them. There was no story for who they were, and I didn’t feel any separation from them. It was like I was born again, but they were not strangers at all. What do you guys think of this habit? Do you personally hug your family members? Do you think this will feel “natural” the more we do this? Like I mentioned with the mystical experience, I didn’t have to practice or plan anything, but since then I have not felt that same love to that degree.
  2. @krockerman If you take this route, I can’t stress enough that you must do your research and be honest with yourself. Really ask yourself if you’re mature enough to handle taking them or not at your current stage of development. Don’t let your ego answer this question. Start slow if it’s your first time. Don’t be an idiot like me who took more than I could handle. I also realized from those experiences that my mind was desperately in need of purification all along. So really after all is said and done, things will go good in the end even if you have a bad trip or two. Learn from that higher wisdom that’s within you always.
  3. This is so ironic that you mention this, because I had a therapist when I was 16 tell me to stop thinking in absolutes. He would draw the number 0 on one side of a paper, and 100 on the other. He explained that progress is more like 1-99. I didn’t get on this spiritual path, so to speak, til I was 18. I guess I had a sense all along that there was something greater. Looking at the example my therapist gave me, it’s evident that the mind tries to wrap everything in absolutes if it’s in an unconscious, impure state. It’s unfortunate that conventional therapy only deals with what’s happening in the mind, because that can obviously only go so far. It doesn’t tap into or see the potential for spiritual growth.
  4. You’re always mentioning meditation haha. Is there a specific method of meditation you recommend or just any kind?
  5. True. Just look how many Marvel movies there are. And movie remakes and sequels and prequels and sequels to remakes. It’s endless.
  6. Do you think you will pioneer a Love = Self movement? It seems to me that the majority of seekers still believe that Self is Self is Self.
  7. What do you personally use to make a dream board? A big white board on the wall? A physical notebook? A mobile app?
  8. I mean that if someone goes into this work and think that “they” will still be the doer and that any problem “they” run into will magically have a logical solution. And of course fear is a big one. It’s a fear that “I” will lose control, even though my need for control is what’s creating suffering all along.
  9. Just make sure to avoid to word “raspberry”
  10. Have you tried psychoanalysis? @winterknight recommends it and I will be seeing one soon because of him (: Also, it is great that you realized that enlightenment won’t solve all your problems. I think a lot of people get into enlightenment because they want to just get rid of all their deep rooted emotional problems without having to face them head on.
  11. @Leo Gura Have you personally noticed a down hill yet? Since you’re over 30 hehe.
  12. That’s why they say “do you want something bad enough?” or “how badly do you want it?”
  13. Who told you that “just realizing that we are all one” is the highest and only thing to realize?
  14. Or they don’t. One must really ask themself “what is a mental illness” and “who is defining and believing what a mental illness is”
  15. My problem exactly. There’s a “me” trying to do self-inquiry correctly.
  16. Don’t put Winter Knight as his name guys! His real name is Akilesh Ayyar
  17. Steve Jobs’ last words were “Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow.” Reading this article, it seems that he was in complete acceptance of his death and that he was marveled by it. If you read about Steve Jobs, it was said that he traveled to India in search for spiritual enlightenment a couple years before founding Apple. I’d say that’s pretty damn cool.
  18. Why is society setup such that crying (at least in public) is seen as a weakness? Why are we placed into jobs that make us lose our creativity and passion? Does the universe want to experience this for a while until society is ready to wake up? Do I as an individual need to wait for society to wake up before I can fully be comfortable with myself?
  19. @Chi_ Wow, he really was ahead of his time. He pushed mankind forward with this wisdom by his side. Legendary.
  20. @Finland3286 How about not making up a story about what it is and directly becoming conscious of it, yes?
  21. @mkrksms Were you tripping by yourself or with others? It might be good to have a high quality trip sitter if you are not experienced.
  22. When I am deep in self-inquiry or meditation, a memory of a dream I had god knows when just pops up. I never thought I’d ever be able to remember it ever again, but I do. Have you experienced such phenomena? Is there an explanation for this?
  23. I’ve had a few glimpses of various degrees. I’m still in the process of “spiritually purifying” myself, as Leo would say.
