@Joseph Maynor I don't know how you have come to any of those things you said. I never said anything about morality, good, bad, shoulds or should nots. I don't know why you brought jesus into it. The interesting world view of some humans was referring to what you said. Theres no belief in there that I said. All I said is the absolute has willingly come into this reality without any rules about how things should go down. -

@Edita Your on the right path! Stay in that presence, your starting to come back into your own being. You could watch leos video again about the heros highest journey. Its your calling. And about eckarts book, your completely right! Listen to it again you will get something more from it now, because your more open, and probably your consciousness has increased some. Good luck, I'm right on this journey with you. -

If we feel compelled or triggered sometimes on this forum to point out peoples ego just remember this. When we are unconscious by definition we don't know we are unconscious, you also have to remember there is a force within us that trys to keep us from being more present. And this is our mind. We can't control it either, so if someone appears to have some unconsciousness of there ego playing up, and we feel triggered by this just remember to try and see The bigger picture of it. Humanity has a collective mind, and we have all been born into this and have "unwittingly" absorbed this consciousness. We had no choice it was forced upon us! And really that ego is thought entity's that come up and some traction happens, some pull latches onto this. And really the one Self at that point had no choice or couldn't do anything about it at all at that moment. So at a moment like this it is the perfect time to become completely present of yourself because ego triggers your ego doesn't it? You ever noticed that? Just like someones pain body triggers your pain body and sometimes there's enough energy there for something to get triggered and at that point you really didn't have a choice And a reaction just happens. Guys let's work together, let's not divide and compete or one up on each other. You have to remember we are all in the same boat. Working at this stuff that is very difficult, maybe the hardest thing one can do. Raising consciousness is a tricky business for all of us! Why? Again precisely because there is a energy that's works against that from happening. And if the truth of you is the world and at the same time not of the world then you can see from that paradox that the real truth of us did not have a choice or couldn't do anything other that what they were compelled to do or behave or react at that time. Compassion is the doorway to a deeper understanding, and if you don't feel compassion at the moment then fine, thats okay to, because you really don't have a choice if you feel or don't at this point. My heart goes out to you, I admire you for taking this journey by yourself to a deeper more authentic place, and its not easy I know, you live in a world of ego, were people can trigger you round every corner. But something has called you, some response has come from you, and that in its self is a blessing. I have tryed to open people up to investigate into what's true and there was no space for that to happen, they were shut off, ignorant in delusion. Is that their fault? Off course not, how could it be? All gratitude to the One Self, the truth. -

@Joseph Maynor @Joseph Maynor @Joseph Maynor Its a interesting point to make. And maybe this reflects the worldview of a lot of humans. It seems that the absolute nature of us does not mind suffering, it comes into being from a fearless and transendent dimension. That is to say just before coming into being it doesn't say before I go into this dream I am laying down some rules! •Rule number one- No suffering I don't like that shit! The absolute has openly and willingly accepted everything that happens to itself. with deeper & deeper enlightenments it will become more and more clear. from our limited human- organism perspective it will be hard to understand. That's why deeper enlightenments are needed in the grand scheme of things its all okay, we are eternal. -
Hero in progress replied to Joseph Maynor's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Joseph Maynor Sure. The truth is about what already is, what is already so. So it doesn't change anything for you, because its already true whether we are conscious of it or not. So nothing has to change in your experience for the truth to already be the case. To put it another way the truth doesn't provide you with anything you don't already have. On the other hand transformation is a proccess that occurs over time. Changing your experience, changing your self experience, your mind, the context in which reality is held and so on. All this stuff has to be changed deliberately. That is to say the truth can provide the consciousness in which to change these things but one has to do that for themselves. For example if you have a enlightenment experience, some things might fall away, some assumptions & beliefs for example, but chances are, after that is over you will go back into the exact same self experience and way of experiencing life you did before the enlightenment. And also the knowing and memory of what you found out during that enlightenment. It may change the way you hold yourself now, and your view of reality but generally speaking your life will be pretty much the same. But the more & more conscious you become, with ever deepening enlightenments the more your ability to completely transform your way of experiencing life becomes. That is to say someone who has had their first enlightenment or two is not gona experience a completely transformed way of life like the Buddha, that takes time with a ever deepening consciousness of experience & self ect. So you can see from this that if you want a completely transformed way of life, with complete freedom, no suffering, to be able to transcend self survival, transform your emotions, the way you relate to others, the wisdom you have, your ability to see the non dual nature of life and so on. Will take a deliberate effort on your part, deep investigation, into your own experience, to be able to change the form of your experience. Enlightenment is the realisation of The nature of your experience, the isness of experience, but does not change the experience. Isness & change are two different things. That's not to say though that your experience won't change in some way after very deep enlightenments. -

Having your first Enlightenment is important if you are going to be a sage. Prior to your first enlightenment all you have is imagination, and that is not it. It is literary impossible to know what it is without first person experience. In other words the only way to ever know is to have a Enlightenment for your self. Now Leo talks about infinity or the God head, and to have a full blown awakening like that, through 5 meo or through years of dedication is probably not what you will have on your first enlightenment. That stuff comes later down the road, after a ever deepening consciousness. Your first enlightenment will probably be a sudden recognition of your true nature, the true nature of other, reality and so on will come down the road. Most likely. So the ways to have your quickest enlightenment, is through some sort of psychedelic. Most psychedelics will at some point induce some degree of ego death. Even cannabis. One way to insure this happens is through strong determination sitting. If you want a enlightenment as quickly as possible then spend a week by your self meditating. And if that is to difficult then just "being" by yourself for a whole week. You can lay on the grass, look a lake, or go for a walk in nature throughout this time by yourself. You don't have to be like the mountain monks and stay motionless for a whole week. If a week is to long then start of with a lesser amount of time to begin with. So some of us might not have the money to rent out a place in the woods somewhere, but that's no excuse. What you need to realise is what you are actually doing with your consciousness work is connecting more & more to the oneness of life, and to the beauty of life. If your unconscious you don't really have access to the "fullness" of life's beauty. Imagine stepping into the shoes of The Buddha for a day, near the end of his life, after his consciousness was completely crystallized. Walking through the forest on a Autumn morning, sun just rising and there's that golden light of the sun peaking through the trees. The gentle sound of a running steam near by as the birds sing there morning song. Each step is vivid and dreamlike. You look around at the beauty of life and at the same time are in the same place as eternity. Even normal people with the normal state of consciousness could appreciate this type of scene described. But a Buddha sees it from a totally different perspective that is inconceivable to you "at this time" The only way to be able to receive the beauty of existence & consciousness is by connecting to it. You do this by being alone with it and yourself. No other not even a you there just a deep presents, and consciousness empty of content, empty of the story of me, with all its troubles, fears and desires. And really come into contact with the preciousness & sacredness of life. If you notice in nature, there's a different quality to it isn't there? Nature doesn't have ego. And this can be felt when one enters into it. So if this resonates with you, go out get a tent and camp out in nature for a week or two, it will change your life, your consciousness, and the depth of who you are. There will be a different quality to you after that. On the last day of your camping trip take a psychedelic, even cannabis and see what happens. Most likely you will enter into a deeper more real! And beautiful consciousness. At that moment if you feel like crying, go with it, if you feel like praying, pray! Whatever at that moment comes to you naturally just go with it. Dance around a fire and sing. So just to recap. •Get a week off work • get some camping stuff ( it doesn't have to be anything too expensive if you don't have the money) that's not why your there. • spend a week by yourself in nature, meditation, do some self enquiry, yoga, read some spiritual books if you want, go for some walks, practice your mindfulness skills, listen to the birds, the steams, the wind in the leaves and most importantly just Be. On the last day do a psychedelic, even cannabis. And see if you go into a deeper consciousness. Most likely you will. The last point is only for those who feel comfortable doing that, do it during the day when the suns out, it will make your trip more beautiful. And the last point is really to see if you have a enlightenment experience. If all this makes you shiver in your boots a little bit, then for those people leave you with this message from the great mystic rumi. -

@Key Elements The point is valid, and of course one can recognize we are all coming at the same thing from different directions, that goes without saying, however differences in interpretation & experience is not the same as being emotionally triggered, or pointing outing and demonizing peoples egocentricity. That in its self is the ego. I write this post, because I know that the mind likes to do these things, my one too. And this post changes the context in which to see thing that type of situation. It comes from a more holistic place of understanding & compassion. -

Hero in progress replied to Edita's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Edita That's sounds like you had a real moment of presence there ( looking out the window) and now you have a opening to go deeper into presence. You have realised that there is a dimension that is beyond thoughts, and this dimension is a formless space that witnesses your thoughts, doesn't it? And that this space is actually a more authentic place, it has to be doesn't it? You already said that when you would sit and meditate it would be like a war with you and your thoughts. So clearly trying to control your thoughts doesn't work, why? Its because there's a more authentic place where your true self resides. And this is the silent dimension that is aware of your thoughts. So instead of trying to control your thoughts, which in fact has the opposite effect of stopping them. Instead stay where you already are in that silent space of observation. And just watch thoughts come and go like the weather. Same thing with emotions too. Its not difficult, its really simple in fact. Any sense of it being difficult or a struggle are JUST MORE THOUGHTS isn't it? I notice you are trying or have been trying to sit and meditate in a "formal" way, when in fact this is putting to much pressure on yourself. In a way your trying to force it, which is something I think every meditator (myself included) have done. Why not try something much more natural from now on, which is staying present in the now. And from that a formal sitting may come naturally at some point in the future. So when your do some stuff around the house, taking a shower, sitting in the garden, cleaning the floor ect. Be completely present in the moment, really "receive" the moment. From that presence will come a alert consciousness, with more sensitivity. Say if your cleaning for example during that proccess be aware of all the different noises that surround you, try and be aware of the inner aliveness of your body, smell the different fragrances in the air, and be aware of the sun peaking through the blinds ect. And really deeply realise that the present moment is all we ever have, and therefore if we are always seeking for the next best thing to happen then we miss our life now, which is in fact all there is. Notice its the mind always projecting forward not you. And if you go along with that then your life will be very miserable, you know why? Because the ego is never happy or never satisfied, always wants something better to come along. I am not saying don't have goals or a vision for were you want your life to go, but just remember that if this is in fact the egos operating principle ( which it is) then you will always miss what's right in front of you in favour of a projected dream of some future ideal that may not satisfy the ego after its come and been around for a while anyway. I think you should read eckart tolles books the power of now, or new earth. This man can explain and guide you better than I can. And I really think you would benefit by reading those books and really taking on what he says in them. You never know you may find just from doing something as simple as cleaning in a present way, a joy and peace may start arising by itself one day. Good luck. -

Hero in progress replied to phoenix666's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@phoenix666 If you ever experience a completely non conceptual moment, then this quote from the great Siddhartha will have much more significants then we can comprehend at this time. You have to remember that Gautama was profoundly conscious! So much so that is inconceivable to us all at this point. Because of this, you can appreciate that he didn't say things willy nilly. This piercingly insightful quote flows from the true wisdom of existence, we may only relate to Buddha as a man, we will have a image & idea of him. But really he was a fully realised being. The whole of this existence spoke from his mouth. Concept is a very creative aspect of existence, it literally projects movies & dreams into existence. For example your whole sense of self is conceptual in nature, the fact that you have a life story is conceptual in nature, the sense that you have a body is conceptual in nature. That maybe difficult to understand for some, but I know this from direct consciousness. We may find this difficult to realise aswell because are not really fully conscious of what concept is, or recognise its creative power! The whole world doesn't recognise what concept really is, and live in projected, superimposed dreams. That's the power of concept! Concept & thinking are synonymous. If you sit around by your self for a year, you will start to directly become conscious of the nature of concept. -
Hero in progress replied to Progress's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Progress You should look into this in your direct experience, what is hate? Surely when we hate something it is because it threatens us in some way, you may hate rudeness, or terrorist, or someone that rubs us up the wrong way. Hate is there to unsure that we avoid, ignore, fight, or oppose that which is in some way threatening our self survival. Why do emotions occur? Is not the purpose of emotions to move us in a particular way, something jumps out the bushes when I am walking in nature, and the emotion of fear or anxiety comes up, this then manipulates me to run, or fend off the possible threat. When I say manipulate I mean "create a particular response" this response is there to "move" me or get me to relate to the particular situation in a way that is consistent with my self survival. Hate is something deemed an appropriate response by one "Self" in relation to something ( a person, a situation ect) The emotion of hate is saying to you "look this thing over there is a threat, its not good for you, I hate it, stay away from it" ect. So you see from this that hate just like every other emotions is there to push you to respond in a way consistent with your survival & well being. When one has enough consciousness of emotions then we will consciously be in the same place of the "creating of the emotion" and thus be able to realise we create the emotion so we can stop creating the emotion. We currently live in the context of emotions are something that happen to me, circumstances "cause" them. But this may not be the case. Don't take my word for any of this contemplate it for yourself that the only way you can be conscious of what emotions are. See we live with a huge assumption that the only way to know something is to believe something or read what something is or gets some "answer" like a sentence or something. But this is not the only thing we can do, we can come into direct contact with something and look at the truth as itself, for itself without any middle men. So next time you have an emotion come up start to look into it for yourself. That's were true wisdom comes from. Good luck. -
Hero in progress replied to momo's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@momo Yeah you can listen to some music, you can listen to your favorite songs while meditating, you can listen to meditation music, like zen music, Tibetan music ect. You can listen to your environment, the birds, the cars, water dripping. You can meditate while smoking, swimming, walking, listening to an audio book, someone speaking, on the train, planes, buses. and you can listen to your own silents. As you grow more & more in you meditation practice you might naturally Orient yourself to listening to silents itself. Go nuts! -
Hero in progress replied to Joseph Maynor's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Joseph Maynor The "heightened Awareness" or flame of attention gives one the freedom to see in real time what is really occurring in ones life. The "auto correct" as you say, is a result of clarity and intelligence. If something is seen as inappropriate or unnecessary then naturally we will stop doing it. If we become conscious that we are creating the anger that we feel when someone cuts us off, or the anxiety that we feel in a social setting, then we have the freedom to stop creating these unnecessary limitations in our experience. awareness is distracted a lot for someone who has no interest in these things, for the one who has the fire of discovery & inquiry in there heart then there consciousness will increase, its inevitable. Direct consciousness will not change anything in experience, but gives one the Freedom to change anything in experience. Don't confuse consciousness with transformation. The relationship between "awareness & dream" is that they are not 2 things. Consciousness and objective existence are the same thing & share the same place. So you can see how one effects the other. -

@cle103 @cle103 Thanks for sharing, I have had a few similar experiences. Its all good, the knee jerk reactions to some of these is self survival. I would suggest you embrace all your experiences. Why not? We dont know what's possible in life, these experiences are not something to freak out about, but rather be fascinated by. Sleep tight to tonight If you get dragged out of your bed like in paranormal activity, then we give you permission to "freak the fuck out :0" Just kidding Lighten up, its nearly Christmas Lots of love. -

@Monkey-man Enlightenment isn't a state or emotion, mistaking enlightenment for a emotion, or a particular experience is understandable. Because these states & emotions are side effects that can occur along with the enlightenment experiences. The ultimate truth isn't a experience or state. Its just you. -
