The thing with "escaping suffering" is that you have an idea of a magic pill that will solve all your problem for you, without any pain or work necessary to do so. You should want to work on your suffering, not hoping for a miracle. Corruption is highly correlated to your state of consciousness. Trump is less conscious than a standard Democrat, and he would corrupt even more the institutions and the medias if he had been reelected. The solution is not going backward toward fascism (stage red/blue), or standard Republican policies (stage blue/orange), it is going forward with the Democrats (stage orange/green) and beyond (stage green/yellow).

Maybe that's true, but the corruption would just been replaced by fascism, which is even worse than sometimes some Republicans or Democrats doing shady things.
