I don't think the breath thing is that important. I can feel my whole body energy + visual field of awareness + mind 90/95% of the time of the day without the breath being noticed. Don't even need to focus on the breath to stay conscious when mindfuckery is "taking over". Unless you mean it's just part of the whole thing, but specifically focusing on it I would tend to disagree as a general rule.
