Whenever you feel a negative emotion, it is because of a negative thought that has arisen. The sequence: Thought creates feeling which creates action. Your feelings usually tell you how to act. Now, to get over a thought, you need to reverse the sequence. You may not control what you feel, but you certainly control how you act. So, you start by acting as if you are not feeling the negative emotion (even though you are). For example, if you are scared of mice, and you want to get over it, you act as if you’re not scared of mice. What actions would you take if you had no fear of mice. Now take those actions, and be persistent. If you do it long enough, your feelings of fear will disappear, and therefore your fearful thoughts will also disappear. Hence you have gotten over your fear.

@Dlavjr If music was a practice, the whole world would’ve been enlightened. But clearly they’re not! -
How to be wise replied to BNP Beats's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@BNP Beats What impact will this create? Surely you’re not expecting people to become enlightened from this. -
I’m sure it’s fine, but there are easier places to approach. For example, if your friend invites you to a party with his friends, it’s far easier to approach because you have a mutual friend, so the ice is already broken, and her guard will be far lower. There’s even a good chance of having sex with her in the same event!

How to be wise replied to Hardkill's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Leo Gura He often quotes Thich Nhat Hanh in his videos, he mentioned reading Eckhart Tolle, and some other spiritual works. He clearly is stage Green, so why does he support Trump? -
I most certainly wouldn’t open like that. There’s no need to tell the girl she’s cute, or you like her. She will know you’re interested because you approached her! I would come up and ask her name. She will give you her name. Now, if she’s interested, she will ask for your name in return. If she’s not interested, she won’t ask. I will always be observing her for any interest. Remember, it will take a girl three seconds of looking at you to know whether or not she’s interested in you. Your job is to figure out what the result is, whether you passed or not. The best way is to ask her questions, and see how she answers them. Short answers mean no interest. Long and detailed answers indicates interest, because she wants to continue the conversation.

@meow_meow It’s impossible to reach enlightenment without a practice, otherwise the whole world would be enlightened! So what other choice do you have? -
@Rasheed You’ve made the wrong move I’m afraid. You can never transcend something by avoiding it. The only way to transcend it, is to fill yourself with it. Do as much porn, and as much masturbation as your body wants. This is the healthiest way of dealing with ‘desires.’ “What you resist persists, what you look at disappears.”

@Striving for more Approaching at a supermarket isn’t the best place, because their guard will be higher. Find a social event on something that you’re interested in. “People who like the same things tend to like each other” as a great man once said. Also, when you’re speaking to her, look for signs of interest. If she gives you long answers, smiles a lot and is interested in talking to you, then those are good signs. But if she gives short answers, and is generally facing away from you, it’s pretty obvious she’s not interested in moving forward. In which case, no need to risk a rejection, just move on.

@EntheogenTruthSeeker At least a few years in my opinion. -
How to be wise replied to The Lucid Dreamer's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Actually 1 stage above in the west. Plus Green has a lot of power, and gets a lot of media coverage. -
@Bazooka Jesus Just watch how quickly it goes by! The beginning of 2020 felt like last week, when that Iranian soldier was killed. I can’t believe this year just shot by.

@benny ‘Psycho-cybernetics’ by Maxwell Maltz. Exactly what you’re looking for!

Basically stage Green. It’s pretty common if you care to notice. -
How to be wise replied to The Lucid Dreamer's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@The Lucid Dreamer Just sounds like ordinary stage Green. Didn’t find any tier 2 material there. -

@RedLine Start a meditation practice. -

You have a lot of work to do. God did not make a mistake when he invented rape, torture and death. -

Which is why he’s not very enlightened. -
How to be wise replied to wesyasz's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@wesyasz There’s simply no way to find out, because we can’t ask the animal. All the brain scans in the world wouldn’t confirm what the experience of the animal is. The only way we can know is by hearing the animal’s answer, which of course isn’t possible. -
How to be wise replied to Shanmugam's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Shanmugam The Power of Now is for beginners. Once you’ve meditated enough, you will grow beyond it. Eckhart Tolle is not a very enlightened man. A few years of meditation is all you need to overtake him. -
How to be wise replied to TheSomeBody's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@TheSomeBody The brain doesn’t produce consciousness. This is a 3rd person materialistic view. Reality is 1st person subjective, so the brain only exists as an appearance of consciousness. Consciousness produces the brain, neurons and all that. Meditate more, think less. -
How to be wise replied to Nate0068's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
You’re still stuck on the material view of reality. Reality is not 3rd person, it’s 1st person. So when you go to sleep, your experience of it is the only truth. Your body does not exist. You still have a long way to go. You haven’t deconstructed physical reality. -

How can something happen if it took no time? -
How to be wise replied to Nate0068's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Notice that you created the ‘nothingness’ after you woke up. I’m not sure how anaesthesia works, but if it’s like sleep then you imagined the ‘nothingness’ after you woke up. Nothing happened whilst you were asleep. -
How to be wise replied to hyruga's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@hyruga Something interesting I learnt from Alan Watts: When you die, you will immediately start your next life. Why? Because the gap between lives, which you might call ‘nothingness’ has no time element, so effectively it doesn’t last any time at all. So whether your next life starts in 10 years, 10 million years or 10 trillion years, it will be immediate because the nothingness has no time, therefore it will pass in a flash. Hence, the moment you die you will be reborn. Not a moment will be wasted ‘in between’ lives.
