  1. I've been there as well. It's just a lack of motivation. What I found helps is to watch documentaries of other extremely enlightened people. Personally, what inspired me the most is the book 'a thousand names for joy' by Byron Katie, where she talks about her life after enlightenment. She describes the unbelievable joy she has with very mundane things, and how she loves every aspect of life, even the things that we would consider 'bad'. When I finished that book, I started enlightenment work straight away, because I wanted to live like that as well. Really recommend it. But the point is, find someone who will inspire you to do the work. I can guarantee you that all successful people where inspired deeply by successful people before them.
  2. I was reading his Wikipedia page, and it said that he fell to the ground and died instantly the moment he finished his speech. His students said that he did some yoga thing where he left his body. Is it actually possible to kill yourself spiritually just by leaving your body?
  3. @Prabhaker @Spiral @Loreena what is mahasamadhi? according to followers, he died by entering a state called mahasamadhi.
  4. no. everyone else can't willingly die just by choosing to leave their bodies! there was no physical cause of death!
  5. Well, there are people who do enlightenment work for 20 years and still don't get enlightened. So there must have been good reasons why they were so lost, and this could be one of them.
  6. What they achieved goes far beyond enlightenment. They achieved sage-hood in one night. Something that will take us at least 20 years.
  7. Eckhart Tolle had a far deeper enlightenment than most people. He clearly has emotional mastery and unconditional love, which most enlightened people don't have. Same with Byron Katie. And probably other people who had instant enlightenments.
  8. I've faced a similar problem. To resolve it, just try concentrating on something else. When you stop focusing on your breathing, it'll become automatic.
  9. There's no side effects for self inquiry. You're not consuming anything.
  10. I can understand why we should contemplate epistemic questions, because they make us question the beliefs that we already have. But why metaphysical questions. I mean, what's the point of contemplating what existence is, or why existence exists at all. How will that improve our lives?
  11. Dark 5 videos are specialists at citing evidence for all sorts of conspiracy theories.
  12. Meditation resurfaces and works through your old preconceived beliefs and thoughts, so you can think of this as the psychy cleaning itself up.
  13. @Shin if people where authentic to themselves, they would be a lot more like children than adults.
  14. Well, in the episode 'big picture of self-actualization' Leo said that metaphysical questioning was a big part of finding the truth. I want to start doing it, but I'm finding it hard to convince myself that it's that important.
  15. I've personally decided to stay away from psychedelics, because even though they could help my consciousness work, no proper health study has been done on them. They could have side effects which could appear years later in your life. My advice is, stick to meditation, self inquiry and other natural methods of raising consciousness.
  16. @LaucherJunge if you become very deeply enlightened, you will be able to see the pure magic and absolute beauty of reality, and you will never become acclimated to them. You will always see every aspect of reality as if you are seeing them for the first time.
  17. @Progress Wisdom means knowing what's worthwhile to pursue. Intelligence is how good you are at using the knowledge that you have.
  18. I've been doing concentration practice for a while but I still don't know whether I have access concentration or not. How do I test myself whether I have access concentration?
  19. I've been doing concentration practice for a while, but I'm not sure whether I have access concentration or not. Is there any way of testing whether one has access concentration or not.
  20. You don't get something by 'doing nothing' in life.
  21. You're joking if you think I'm gonna read your whole post
  22. There is one thing about self-inquiry which I'm finding difficult to do. One part of the technique is that, when you identify with the sensations you're feeling, you say that you can't be that sensation because it is not 'constant'. However, it's very hard to actually feel that, because in the moment that you're feeling the sensation, it feels like it is 'constant'. Sure, you can say to yourself that you won't feel it one hour later, or you didn't feel it yesterday, but it's very hard to convince the heart unless I'm actually feeling that it's not constant. Any suggestions for how to overcome this issue is appreciated.
