  1. If you were to take a path that leads to enlightenment I would suggest that those things would very likely disappear whilst you are on the path.
  2. I used Headspace.com but would only recommend that for complete beginners. Then a series from Peter Russell which was okay/quite good and then I heard a couple of mediatations from Eckhart Tolle and now mostly do my own. Good luck.
  3. Okay, thank you, I can see that now you have pointed it out. It did not appear as a pointer to me originally. My apologies for missing this.
  4. Thanks Mal. Interesting. It sounds like you don't believe in forms.
  5. @mikeyy For me it is not about creating a "distinction between thoughts and awareness" it is purely about awareness of thoughts. When they come I don't care, I am just practising being aware that they came and they dissolve pretty quickly (often making me laugh!). I am not sure but it looks like you might be fighting thought and it was better for me to not do that. I think I hear "what you fight (resist) gets stronger".
  6. @Mal Hi Mal. You don't think there is somebody to be awakened?
  7. @Light_Ray Hi. I think answering this might not help you because it makes it sound a bit like their is a "right" way. In essence I do anything to be present and aware. One breath might even be enough on occasion.
  8. @Mary Hi! No, it is me, I misinterpret words often (and I am English!). My experience thus far is that all of the things you mention will feel "better" so there is nothing to be concerned or apprehensive about. Particularly my social interactions have improved (more present, better listener etc) so you can look forward to that! This is part of the process. It happens that thought takes over, that is the human mind/condition. The vital part for you is that you NOTICED it. This means that awareness and presence is already coming for you. Keep practising meditation and observing your mind/ego and you are doing great!
  9. @Mary Hi Mary, could you explain what you mean when you say "you decided to give enlightenment a try" please as I don't understand (my apologies)
  10. @Leo Gura I am new here, thank you for your great teachings. Do you believe that enlightened people want to create more enlightened people? At the moment I do not feel like that is something I want (to "create" them) I just feel that it will happen as and when people/humanity/the universe is ready and I will do my part in putting pointers out there for people to use if/when they/the universe see fit. Do you think it is my (or anyone's) duty to "market" it?
  11. Hi, I will not attempt to answer your question but tell you what happens to me... Every now and then I cry during meditation. For me it always feels like tears of joy. It seems to happen when I feel an overwhelming sense of oneness with space/no-thing/silence, that sort of thing. The thing that makes me laugh (at myself/my ego) is my desperation to get back to that point which means I have made a goal for my meditation which will then probably stop me from feeling it again! If I had written your sentence I would ask myself these questions... What does crying mean to me (am I labelling it as "good" or "bad")? Do I really "need" to reach this goal of 1 hour (or should I just stop when my session feels done)? Chris.
