Well I assumed that book of yours offers a range of practices with different benefits. There's so many things that you can explore with kriya. Reaching samadhi is just one of meny. And it will take time ofcourse, as expected. Simplest use of kriya yoga would be to create wellbeing or health or balance and stuff. Those things are easily achievable if you know the right practice. Well I'm aware now only of one such kriya called shambhavi mahamudra designed by sadhguru witch I practice for 4months now and it worked for me from day one. But I'm sure there are many practices you can find that create pleasentness for yourself. From different gurus or books. Well shambhavi is designed in such a way that it alters your basic chemistry into pleasent, happy state. According to sadhguru you can take blood test after a few weeks of practice and see the changes in blood. So ultimalty every experience that you have has a chemical basis to it. If you feel depression there's one kind of chemistry in the blood. If you feel angry there's another kind of chemistry, happy again another kind of chemistry. So shambhavi is a kriya to create chemistry of blissfulness. I'm not telling you to do shambhavi. But you can look for something like that. I heard many people on this forum find all kinds of weird guru's who initiatiate them into from I heard powerful processes. -

It's possible that you're doing kriya witch is highly focused on enlightenment. In that case, it will take a bit longer then 2months to see the results. It can definitely feel like nothing is happening but one day something will burst open. That would be nice. But if you want quick results try to look for kriya that is designed for happiness ir smth. -

Maybe start chewing food? Lol. Just kidding -
I know what would help you. There are some chants, each with a specific purpose, that when you listen to them or utter them create reverberations throughout the system. Thus gives wonderful benefits. Even can take you to enlightenment or open some new dimension. You don't need to utter them, just listening is okey, but you can chant also. These chants have incredible impact on your psychological structure, your emotional structure, your energy structure, and in the atmosphere around you. After some time of listening to one of these chants you will start reverberating like that chant. That mantra can become your basic quality. These mantras are selected by sadhguru to match different people. More information here https://isha.sadhguru.org/in/en/blog/article/making-use-of-the-mystic-chants

Volunteering doesn't mean working in big organization to save starving kids. It simply means, do something for others. Like plant a tree, feed some birds, clean somebody else's dishes. All these things will be hard to do because there's a voice inside of us that says "what is it for Me?" We want to take this self-importence out because it gives birth to all the arrogance and vanity. Also you can start bowing down to people, at least in your mind. Try to hold something higher then yourself. A dog, a person, someone you hate, try to bow down to it in your imagination. This also helps to take away the arrogance and make you humble and carring.

You're too full of yourself. Do something for others. Clean the kitchen. It will make you stop thinking about yourself that much Also it feels like this post was another way to get attention. Also I sense some kind of victim mentality here. And arrogance. In general, you're a mess I'm telling you. Volunteering would do wonders for you. You seen like a smart guy to understand that.

Yoga is not an exercise. It's like a dinamic meditation that ultimately leads to enlightenment or union with the existence. It's a sutle science of working with life energies or Prana or Chi. If performed irresponsibly you can destroy your life but if performed correctly you can become super human. Like ectricity, for example, you can have so many benefits from electricity, but if you stick your fingers were you're not suppossed to. You can die. -

Try some chanting -
Has anyone tried to fall asleep while meditating? Apparently you can fall asleep in a meditative mode and meditate for long periods of hours. Wouldn't that be awesome to learn. Does anyone have any experience with this? What techeque did you use? What was your success rate?

A little story and a solution to all relationship problems I used to struggle with every relationship, always being out of words and being awkward and uncomfortable all the time with other people, not knowing what to say. So I was looking for an answer to this problem. How do I become like one of those people who always talk and joke around and just always have things to say. I went to the therapist regarding this problem and she asked me. How do you feel? Well I'm good I answer. She said. Nono how do you Really feel. Like say a concrete feeling or emotion. Saying good or bad means nothing mostly. So I was sitting there trying to give her the answer for 2minutes but what felt like 2hours and finnaly I came up with a vague answer. And she would haunt me with this question every time we met. And later I realized that this is the whole problem to my relationships. When I can't even say how am I feeling. How will I be able to have a good conversation with somebody? Afterall, conversations are just an expression of emotions and feelings. So I realized that if I want to be more fluid in all situations, always have something to say, be expressive, I need to learn to recognize emotions. In other words, Increasing my awereness of my feelings. Knowing your feelings greatly enchances how you can respond to different situations. It's like a musician trying to play what's in his head on the instrument but he fails to find the right notes because he has bad ears. That's way many people can't express themself because they have bad awereness of their feelings. So I started this question everywhere I go I'd be asking how do I feel right now? How do I feel right now? And it's much much harder then you think. So just a quick test for you. How do you feel right now? Saying good bad and normal means nothing. See how long it will take you to answer this. If you fail to answer it then this question could be your practice and an answer to all the problems you have interating with people. Once you're able to tell effortlessly how you feel. You will see your interations with people will be on a whole different level. You'll be like a jazz musician but in conversations. They can play whatever is in their head spontaniously Peace

@Dogsbestfriend I resonate with what you're saying. The were times when I managed to slip into sleep while meditating by accident. And it's true that meditation goes on in the sleep automatically, I experienced it. The only problem is I can't do it intentionally. That would be such a transforming process. To meditate for 8 hours every night Osho talks about meditating in sleep here. -

Well that's what he says. Wether it's true or not I don't know and you don't know either. So better stay silent and not say anything that you don't know. What I known - I know, what I do not know - I do not know. #Sadhguru Come to think of it. It does make sense what sadhguru says. Yes, Consciousness is infinite. But mind is not. Mind can only have a finite number of dimensions. A body can have only a finite number of chakras. What is possible for humans may not be physically possible for animals. So it makes sense that this body and mind has only a finite number of possibilities. -
Salvijus replied to NoSelfSelf's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I wouldn't be so sure about that. Sadhguru says that he knows human mechanizm from It's origin to it's ultimate. All the mystical dimension and all. Plus he says there is nothing new that's been said over 10 000years. When Adiyogi came and started propounding the science of Yoga. Since then nothing new has been said and never will be. Everything that is possible to humans has been said by him. So think twice -
Your weekness is that you need a test.

What?! A pussy?! Lol. Such a thought never ever would've entered my mind Give these people some respect I think this forum is evolved enough to see the value of high emotional awereness.
-
@SpyAquamarine My answer is - it's a question of how high your emotional awereness is. Or EQ in other words. Many musicians have always this problem that they can hear music in their heads but they can't express it. It always happens to myself also. The solution is simple. You need to develop a better ear. Increse your listening ability. When you develop a good ear you can play whatever is in your head you can play that on the instrument, but if don't have a good ear you will struggle immensly with finding the right notes. Right now I can play classical music is my head but I could never put it out in the world. Why? Because I don't have that level of hearing ability. If I had a perfect pitch I could write anything that comes into my mind. The same goes with expressing your thoughts and feelings. The better listening ability you have on your emotions the easier you will find expression to them. I bet you can't do this simple task right now. Can you tell me how you feel right now? Saying good, bad or normal doesn't count. It has to be a specific emotion. Try it and see if it's something that you can do effortlessly or does it take some effort. I would like to hear your feedback

Don't be like that... Stay a little silence.. hold onto that question can the seer be seen. It's not a mental question. If you say "but how can this be known? It's impossible" then your seeing is only mental. You're still on the mental plane. Stay silent. And hold that question. Let that question burn everything including the questioner. I wish you strengh on this path and patience ? -

That's a terrible idea Do shambhavi first with concentration and then do other kriya.
