  1. Thank you for the answer. I got hooked on the notion of chakras because the video I attached above was the only sure way I found to bring myself back. Glad I stumbled upon it. Since then, chakras was all I could think about even if I don't know much about them, their legitimacy and so on. I will also research more on alternative emotional healing practices.
  2. I've experienced this (and still do to a certain extent), so I also highly recommend the following: The effects of this quick yoga segment are immediate. Trust me, it will bring you back to the earth. Whenever you feel pretty panicked, do that, or use Pranic breathing (like Martin recommended in another post) Also, if you have a gym routine, don't drop it. (it will help a lot) As Martin said above, talk to people that are more grounded. Do not try to STOP resisting negative emotions; instead try to detach and look at them with curiosity remember, those just need to get out in order for you to grow and increase your stress threshold Watch comedies Interact with animals Walk on grass barefoot Try to not stay alone for long periods of time, at least in this transitional period Watch videos of spiritual masters (with simple talks, nothing too serious, maybe where they are interacting with the audience). Their presence and state of bliss will rub off on you and calm you down Repeat this in your mind often : ”Where there is disconfort, there is resistance” this will remind you to let go of control and not waste a lot of physical/mental energy it might seem easy, but it's harder than it seems Also, a question @Martin123. Does the ”inner child” constitute the first three chakras? Should I do healing yoga that is not only for the root chakra, but also for the two that are above the root chakra?
  3. This is exactly what happened to me. Check out my post "Read this before watching Leo's Spiritual Enlightenment videos" in the Meditation/Enlightenment Sub-forum. I think it will definitely help you out. Take care.
  4. Bottom Line: Please learn about grounding before watching Leo's video. BACKGROUND STORY: The video about the truth of spiritual enlightenment depressed me for about 2 weeks then kind of unvoluntarily caused me to do unconscious self-inquiry, bringing up all sorts of negative emotions, questioning reality and so on (I am also pursuing a philosophy degree and schoolwork definitely did not help and just made me question everything even more). I did and did not know why I was feeling that way. When I thought I was finally becoming desensitised to the truth I think I started having minor astral projections (seeing my body from a 3rd view perspective for a few seconds at a time, probably from not being to handle the extremely powerful emotions). I tried searching everywhere for an answer before I would go nuts. I thought I got involuntarily too far on the spiritual path as I already done meditation for quite some time. I felt most grounded when working out at the gym. In the rest of the time, I felt wibbly wobbly in my body since hearing the truth. I should've read a lot more about spirituality before I watched Leo's video as I would have known about this trap. Please: 1. Don't stop daily life activity after watching the video. Sitting still for long periods of time made me be out of touch with the body (coupled with being in my head inquirying continously). 2. Search on google and youtube how to do GROUNDING. (this saved me and helped me resume normal life) 3. Proceed with caution. I tried to follow Leo's advice of stepping away from enlightenment until I get all the fundamental problems resolved (money, emotional etc.) but the extreme negative emotions, doubts etc. from watching the video seriously hindered me from resuming my personal life and the disconnection with the body made it a lot worse. I could not compartamentalize the idea in my head, sit with the feelings and then proceed with my other responsibilities. I thought for a minute that this was just the ego not being able to handle it anymore and needing to transcend (like Eckhart Tolle experienced). That would have been a mistake at this point in time. I was baffled because I know that just knowing the idea of enlightenment intelectually does not equate with becoming enlightened, but the experiences generated by just knowing the truth really freaked me out and I know I was not ready for it yet. I thought I would eventually never be able to come back to the physical body again as consciousness I thought was just rooting to get out. In fact now I think it was and is just a temporary imbalance I need to get through with grounding work. Glad I stumbled upon the concept when researching today. DISCLAIMER: I may misinterpret a lot of experiences as I have not read a lot of spiritual books aside from Eckhart Tolle's. Please don't bring harsh comments to this post as I just want to help the people that don't know the truth of spiritual enlightenment yet however I can and avoid the struggles I face/-ed. You are free to correct anything I said as I too would get to understand the situation better. The experiences might seem exagerated, made up or whatever you want to call them but believe me, they felt very real and mind buggling. This post doesn't stem from a lack of attention or something like that. I did not talk with anyone about my experiences outside of this post. Finally, I am sorry if this post is too long. I felt nothing should be left out.
  5. Allegedly the lower pitches relate to lower chakras, and higher pitches to higher chakras like the throat one. This makes sense because you can feel the vibration of the pitch in the body (relatively moderate pitches you can feel in your throat while lower ones go further down the body and higher ones right to the top and back of your skull).
  6. Probably so. I won't dwell on how it should have been. Right now I am glad I found a supportive group that understands what I am saying and that the problem I created/experienced was just and overactive root chakra that needed healing/grounding work and not some fullblown nasty experience I should not have triggered and that I can't somehow stop. I will be reading a lot more on this stuff without overwhelming myself, being careful not to fall in another trap as easily as I fell in this one.
  7. That's real good for you. If I had known more about om chants, yoga, chakras and spiritual enlightenment from the get go maybe the blow wouldn't have been so hard. The last weeks were hell. It was like life was sucked entirely from me. No apetite, no motivation, no sense of anything being real, creating unnecessary suffering from not being acquinted enough with the topic and so on. I'm really glad I got some guidance right now. I took everything Leo said to heart, thinking that the physical world is a matrix and therefore it being wrong in some way (that was actually just being dramatic in order to trigger change in people, not letting them go back to sleep, but I did not see it). Thanks to the recommendations (the book of Sadhguru especially, which I checked out a few hours ago), now I see it more as in stages, getting comfortable with each plane of existence before going on to the next. I was trying to shove my way to the next level involuntarily without being comfortable with the current plane of existence in which I live right now, which could only generate further problems.
  8. Thank you once again. I will look into it. I saw the guide before but didn't click as I thought shadow work and emotional healing are more enlightenment exercises on the part of liberation, not healing, as you separated the two in the previous reply. Thus I thought it will only worsen my situation after hearing the truth. Now I can see more clearly. I will proceed getting a lot more in touch with my body and physical reality first before I move on to other stuff. I already feel a lot more secure after 30 minutes of Root Chakra Healing Yoga.
  9. Thank you for sharing! A lot of supportive people around here. That's amazing.
  10. That is a major insight. Thank you very much for sharing it. If that is true, I made a big mistake. I continued pursuing liberation in the midst of suffering when I should have pursued healing instead (chakras for ex). I deeply appreciate this.
  11. True, that's why I felt like sharing all of this. To help others that may stumble upon the topic of enlightenment by accident like I did.
  12. Yes, found that out a few minutes ago in a youtube video. Also, I saw that if you chant with the lowest pitch you can manage, it engages the lower/root chakra which like you said grounds you in the body/this plane of existence.
  13. UPDATE: I researched a bit and gave a try right now to Root Chakra Yoga (healing), which allegedly grounds you in your own body and gives you the sense of security in the physical world before you go further. It definitely helped a lot. I can see the results instantly. Sadhguru talked about it too if I remember correctly. Why hadn't I heard of these before. They are amazing I might say I don't know much about chakras or whatever you like to call them but I feel much more connected with the body right now and much more at ease.
  14. Good input. Relating with what you are saying. The human component is important. Although it's hard to say teachings can't be harmful. He says multiple times to proceed at our own caution, use common sense and judge for our own where we are at currently on the path. Advanced teachings can mess you up real hard if you are not ready for them and overwhelm you, plus you can't implement them because you have more foundational work to do. Counterproductive either way, although I see what you mean.
  15. Don't think hugs help much when questioning physical reality. You have a good point though. I mean darkest sides as in the process of spiritual purification, dropping roles, facing old emotional baggage etc.
  16. Thank you very much for the recommandation. How was your experience similar? How did you get through it? Any tips?
  17. Thank you for your input. Most probably you don't know what we mean yet, which is fine, and maybe you should not pursue this path until you know a lot more about it and what it entails. It requires intense emotional labour. It will beat you, expose your darkest sides and make you face them. It's the road to the highest level of development there is. If you haven't done basic self-development until now, you probably won't understand the benefits of it as much. Take care.
  18. I agree with you totally, and I feel your pain. I also take responsibility and accept what is. Adding to your point, most people don't have spiritual teachers at hand who can answer questions and put them at ease, and prevent them from going too far. And you can't just unhear the truth. This is not to promote being unconsciouss, but as you said, this is real serious stuff and I think should come with a really serious warning. Leo's FAQ videos about enlightenment did not help me either even if his end goal there probably was to calm me down. They just raised more questions, and made me more uncomfortable. I won't watch his enlightenment videos anymore until I'll be ready because they just feel counterproductive right now. I won't become a victim either, although i find my current situation real difficult to deal with.
  19. I do fasting too (when I cut and maintain). When I bulk I find it hard to eat that much in such a short window, even with more than 1 meal. Protein shakes definitely help.
  20. If meat is the primary source of protein, eating all the daily calories in one go would be very hard. After 2 steaks you are done. Meat is highly satiating. Pastry products are perfect for bulking as they are calorically dense and don't stave off your hunger for long. Even chocolate is highly satiating and you can't eat too much of it also. Donuts on the other hand don't fill you up as much and you can hit 1000kcal easily without feeling too stuffed.
  21. First I would need to know how much meat is for you minimum meat (per day). Unfortunately, meat is the primary source of protein that is pretty hard to replace even though there are workarounds. From the other foods you get only bits of protein here and there, rarely concentrated. For a can of tuna you can get 30g of protein per 100g and from oatmeal you can get only about 10g per 100g. So if you have to get in about 150g of protein per day, it would be pretty hard to do that without meat or any kind of protein supplement (like bars or powders). Calculate your maintanence calories (the amount of calories you need per day to maintain your current weight) and add 285kcal over that (that will mean a surplus of 2000kcal per week to facilitate muscle growth). The perfect amount of protein I found to be 2.2g of protein per kg (and it doesn't change either if you are bulking, cutting, maintaining etc.). 20-30% of the calories should go to fats, and the calories remained after the protein and fats should go to carbs. Download the app myfitness pal (android/ios), insert your measurements and it will calculate this fairly accurately for you (you can double check though by making your own calculations). Meal timing does not matter AT ALL when bulking. That is, if you want to enjoy life while bulking. Eating after 10pm won't turn all you just ate automatically into fat. I leaned down 10kg while eating everyday after 11pm an insane amount of food (because I ate less during the day), just before bed. Eating carbs and protein before and after a workout would be advised, but if you can't, don't worry about it. If you don't eat in the morning you will stay leaner during your bulk due to the benefits of fasting, but I prefer getting a little bit more fat rather than having to shove 3000kcal in a later meal. However you eat right now is fine if it works for you. Just adjust how your meals look like based on the calculations above. Meal timing is important only when cutting in order to promote satiety.
  22. What has worked and is working for me is strength training 3x a week at the gym (mainly compound movements - weighted pull-ups, benchpress, pistol squats - with a few accesory excercises) and walking a lot while maintaining a healthy and permisive nutrition (I do eat chocolate everyday, even when I cut). After 3 months of following this kind of programme I slimmed down from 65kg to 55kg (15% to 9% bodyfat) while putting on muscle. Then, on the same programme I put 10 kg back on (5kg of muscle) in about 7 months then slimmed back to 60 kg (10% bodyfat) and now am at 65kg (10% bodyfat) going for 74 kg at a height of 175 cm. All of this meaning a replacement of 10kg of fat with 10kg of muscle in about 1-1.5 years. Gone from not being able to do 5 CHIN-UPS to now being able to do 5 PULL-UPS with 30kg attached . Gone from not being able to hold balance properly on one leg to doing 5 strict one legged pistol squats with 10kg dumbbells. 1. The biggest advice I can give from all my endeavour is to take care of your shoulders at any time when doing heavy lifting. The rotator cuff tendons are highly sensitive and can be torn with one simple but sudden movement. Before you attempt benchpressing of any sort, or doing any shoulder exercise, research the proper form online (10 TIMES OVER - and then 10 times more). - this also applies to any exercise you haven't done before. The risk of injury increases exponentially with the amount of weight used. 2. Also, don't listen to 99% of people when it comes to fitness advice. If the person doesn't look anywhere near how you would like to look, don't take advice from them. In case of older people, take advice only from the ones that had prior professional experience in the fitness industry. Use commons sense. I wasted a lot of years taking advice from the wrong people and thus limiting my potential. 3. Not all online fitness courses are scams. There are thousands of good and bad ones. Find the course that best fits your needs and lifestyle (I personally followed Kinobody's programs, to whom I owe almost all my gains) and STICK TO IT. 4. A healthy body is built 20% in the gym and 80% in the kitchen. No matter how hard you train, if you can't facilitate the body's recovery through healthy nutrition (including the appropriate amount of food depending on your goals) you will not see ANY KIND OF RESULTS. I wasted my first 2 years of lifting not making any kind of progress because I didn't know what/how much and when to eat. It's calories in, calories out. Research as much as possible. I could ramble for another 10 hours as I have made every mistake there is to make when it comes to fitness and nutrition, so I will cut this short and you guys can ask me any questions you want. I will try to reply ASAP.
