Hey, I know this thread is a year old, so apologies for reviving it.
I just wanted to say that your story really stood out to me. The level of honesty and self-reflection in how you described that period of your life, especially acknowledging how you were pulled into that mindset and later questioning it, is rare and genuinely powerful to read.
The reason I’m reaching out is that I’m currently part of a team producing a documentary for HBOMax about about Andrew and Tristan Tate. One of the main aims of the series is to try to understand how the system actually worked from the inside, not just the alleged exploitation of women, but also how many young men were drawn in, influenced, and in some cases manipulated themselves.
A big focus of the series is looking at the cult-like dynamics and psychological tactics that seemed to operate within the ecosystem, the sense of brotherhood, the ideology, the escalation of commitment, the upselling structures, and how belief and loyalty were reinforced inside those spaces.
One thing we’ve heard consistently from people we’ve spoken to and interviewed, including former members, is exactly the concern you mentioned in your post, the fear that speaking publicly could backfire because there are still people under Tate’s influence who might react badly or misunderstand the situation. Because of that, we have conducted some of our interviews fully anonymously (voice alteration, pseudonyms, no identifying visuals), and several people have already chosen to participate that way.
What struck me about your post is that you experienced the War Room very early on and also described the process of slowly realizing what was happening while still being honest about your own role in it. That perspective ( someone who was inside the system and later reflected critically on it) is incredibly valuable in helping people understand how these environments actually function.
If you’d ever be open to discussing your experience, even just an informal conversation first, I’d really appreciate the chance to connect.
Feel free to reply here or send me a DM if you’d prefer. Happy to verify who I am or share more details about the project privately as well. My email is adrian.murray@talosfilms.com
