Yeah but after you do that you find out nothing is impossible you kinda want to go out and do the impossible. I suppose some would say that's falling back into ego or whatever but I don't think that necessarily has to be the case. -

The naturalist and the conspiracy theorist are both half right and half wrong. For example, the conspiracy theorist wants to tell us that planet durp is an absolute contrivance of elitist and evil Black Popes. He is wrong about that but elitist, evil black popes do exist and humans are a resource like any other. As for who is specifically drawn to them (based on your correlation) I'd say open minded people but that's a double edged sword. -

Enlightenment has just as much potential to turn you into a total asshole as it does to turn you into a compassionate and magnanimous human being. That's not an either/or deal either. You could be totally righteous but still have your asshole moments or vice versa. As far as telling the mountain to move and having it move magic stuff this isn't the realm for that. This isn't home. One day you will go *On and if you managed liberation here the promise and miracle of the infinite will be there for you. -
Shrooms try to kill me every trip now. Unless we're talking about micro dosing here which I dont bother with. If psychedelics were that good for you more would be better and that's been proven demonstrably false many times. The benefits of these types of drugs are mental, not physical - and still subject to abuse like anything else.

This is why I can't go to church. No place to drop "apparently god likes gang bangs" and have it taken seriously. -

That's probably the case for most but there are systemic anomalies that are not driven by fear or desire. -

The guru can't give you truth. Nor can anyone else. They can only point to it and hope you do your homework. All of us are in the dark on many matters and all of us are always barking up some wrong tree in some area of our thinking and perception - it's guaranteed - but sentience is not about knowledge of the external. So if you're going in circles its because you're still in the dark. -

The tin foil hate people have plenty of good reasons to be paranoid. Their biggest problem is they let the paranoia get the better of them. There is no easy way around the Powers That Be and its not like the Powers That Be are giving us the option so the easiest way for most to intellectually resolve the impasse is just to deny the existence of the Powers That Be. -

You gotta get beyond the question of "is this real?" It's real enough. The question has always been is what is within you more real than it? If yes, then welcome to the kingdom. If no, then the dead shall bury the dead. -

Gurus are ultimately a joke because you're still seeking in the external. The good gurus and sacred texts will directly or indirectly tell the seeker all the seeker really needs to know or do: Forget the world of man and go within where the kingdom of heaven is. Seek the silence. -

Spoiler alert: Its true. So you can relax that attachment to needing it to be true. Something tells me you probably won't do that since it sounds like you're not done failing yet but as long as you keep seeking ye shall find. -

Being Superman would be freakin awesome. But after awhile even Superman wishes he was someone else. -
Don't get the Buddhism hate. Or non duality for that matter. All the Buddhist philosophy I have read places ultimate emphasis on the Individual path. No mass movement, very little dogma and no blood atonement of an external savior god, just practical how to manuals on achieving full on sentient sovereignty. That's not saying the priesthood didn't manage to create a mass religion out of it...

The question was asked why do younglings resist moral realism? I can't speak for the kids but one reason could be because it doesn't exist. In the material or metaphysical worlds. Its a made up idea like human rights. Great for manipulation and herd steering. Only the domesticated indulge in this delusion. When you "live" in the 'survival pressure cooker' and no men are created equal all bets are off.
-
Well despite appearances its still pure law of the jungle out here.

How much potential has been destroyed by conformity and morality as well as the dialectic opposites of perversion and addiction? You live in nature. Nature is a violent bloody war - total all encompassing all consuming war for survival, growth and evolution - no holds barred - no morality - no right - no wrong - just what is and what can be accomplished. You can cling to your morality or whatever nonsense you're working with but you can not never ever no how no way impose your moral presumption upon nature. This does not imply that human wisdom or discernment is irrelevant. It simply means that 'it is what it is' and human convention regarding meaning and morality does not apply - anyone who can wrap their noodle around this fact will save themselves mucho trabajo.

Yes, there are powers and principalities that viciously tax our asses to advance a fucked up agenda. The idea or notion that we have any say on the matter is a joke. We're all going along for the ride whether we want to or not. Best to be proactive under these circumstances. A good first step is realizing politics and revolution is a waste of time. -

Forgive the gross oversimplification but everything and nothing. Its all convoluted and paradoxical when you try to actually explain it. Ultimate Truth can only be experienced. I know what you're driving at but I'm beyond employing the either/or approach to enlightenment. Been there, done that. I just can't satisfactorily explain what being an infinite miracle is without holding up an inferior signpost which just prompts you to point out how weak my signpost is. Seems to me like these things go together but whatever works for you. -

I guess we need to get enough voters together so we can vote the system out of power. Next election we can use the vote to politely ask the power meanies to stop screwing us... Good luck with that. -

We love to play these games where we chase our own tails. The source of Truth is within you - it is you. -

I can understand one's reluctance to shrooms or any other psychedelic for that matter and I would be the first one to say they are definitely not for everyone but there's no denying its a great shortcut and you only need to try it once. There's no guarantees but there are ways they can be done safely (certain types of retreats, trip sitters etc). As Alan Watts put it, once you get the message you can hang up the phone which is good advice because while drugs can break down a lot of barriers, they can't take you the whole way. With or without psychedelics I recommend tons of silence and solitude. Deep existential silence, if achieved, is the most powerful solvent in the Reality. Illusion and false consciousness/identity just evaporate in its midst. It provides a real and meaningful perspective that is extremely conducive of gnosis. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose so yes, its worth it. -
Willy Phallicus replied to Breakingthewall's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I'd say Truth is an experience. A gift. A deeply personal experience/gift that cannot be shared or given to another (if you want to play that game and acknowledge other), least of all through verbal communication. I can describe that experience and label it (I prefer gnosis to awakened or enlightened) but the words will never encapsulate the experience in a way that does it any kind of justice - especially to the uninitiated - that much is true. But yeah, I hear ya, when you've been gifted that very specific revelation you can get tired of being told you don't really know what you know that you know. Like the Oracle said to Neo, its like being in love. No one can tell you you're in love, you just know it. -

Thank god. Who wants to be burdened with the demands of universal meaning? -
Willy Phallicus replied to Breakingthewall's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I agree, its beyond rationality and logic thus our only recourse to consider it is by metaphor. Any metaphor or idea one can generate concerning reality is a limitation it is not bound by. So yeah, no argument from me.
